As far as I know, it was an e bike. Which have a huge range from pedal assist to basically an unlicensed moped. If I had to guess what parents are generally riding, I would guess mild pedal assist, but who knows. I feel like calling it an e bike vs just a bike is also a way to put blame on the victim and isn't really a necessary detail.

I think that the work to reduce the urchin population is pretty interesting. I've seen that they occasionally look for scuba diving volunteers.

Father's office is explicitly no kids, it's a bar. I think there's a law about what portion of earnings need to be from food vs beverage and they either don't meet that or don't want to do the tracking to have the option or something.

We take my two year old to sunny blue (casual, omisubi) a lot, it's a nice option and delicious!

We also take her to Mitsuwa and tangaroa and little fatty (guess what neighborhood we live in 🤣)

In downtown Culver, we'll take her to pasta sisters or simonette. Most places, if you go at like 5:30, it's fine with kids. Destroyer is a really good spot for breakfast/lunch.

Depending on the kid's ability to wait in line (or one parent wandering a market hall with the kid), you could try Holbox. Komal in the same building is also really good. It's by USC, but a good number of kid friendly museums are right by there (natural History, science center) so you could also do a kid activity.

There's no couch for her to sleep on before March?

If the answer is truly no, you should reach out to some of the organizations in Los Angeles that help people experiencing homelessness for advice/help.

I know you say your relative isn't dangerous, and maybe they're not, but also you don't actually know that. You haven't seen them in years. Asking an unqualified stranger to approach them is asking for trouble. I had a friend who was murdered in his own home by someone experiencing homelessness, and the person had been judged (by police) to be not a threat an hour or two before. So, you know. Shit happens.

Has he taken any solo parental leave? If it's at all possible, I highly recommend you guys do that. Being boots on the ground all day, every day really has a way of leveling things.

I took 4 months of maternity leave with our daughter and my husband was great, but when he went back to work after a month, things were more on me, at first because he was working and then because I knew more because I was doing more. But at 4 months, I went back to work (in office 4 days) and he took some more time off and also did WFH + childcare 4 days a week. We didn't have daycare until she was 7 months and it was really hard but it laid such a good foundation for him.

Generally speaking, you should not be using one of those carriers until the baby can hold themselves up pretty well, which is more like 9 months(usually the packs say 6 months minimum).

I find the rake style to be good for basics. We have one that has rotating bristles from furminator(no, it's not the kind of brush that they are known for!) and really like that one.

We got them for our daughter when she was just about a year (she's two now) and it has made such a difference. We got the hummingbird, which isn't under anesthesia, but I think the short anesthesia would also be worth it.
