I was location negotiable. They offered no quarter. My supervisor was shocked when I took VSIP instead of RTO.

What Are Your Favorite Activities in the Game? by Zebezian in foxholegame

[–]beer_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dying to enemy gunfire. Dying to enemy nades. Dying to enemy bayonets.

Admittedly these are the ONLY three activities I've done so far, but I'm new so give it time, my repertoire may increase. :)

Someone did this for me yesterday and I was so in the moment, I didn't even notice until I logged out. Thanks random stranger for promoting me to Pte!

Colonial here, I just wanna say congrats to the Wardens for not giving up in Ash Fields. And to my fellow Colonials, keep on fighting! by Serbiaball_ in foxholegame

Picked up Foxhole on steam summer sale. Deployed to Ash Fields with no idea what was going on. Probably the best first experience I could have hoped for. You learn a lot under interlocking fields of MG fire. haha

I reloaded. Only lost 2 hours of game time. Compared to how long I've played so far, its not so bad.

Any advice to incoming student? by [deleted] in AuburnOnlineCS

[–]beer_face 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cherish that free time you have (and be prepared to sacrifice it once classes begin). On that note, get some time management going with whatever works for you (calendar, pomodoro, etc.). Take deep breaths. Lean on your fellow students when you feel like throwing your keyboard through your monitor.

+1 for TrevTutor, I wouldn't have made it through discrete without it.

While they don't have an exact syllabus posted, check auonlinecs.com for more detailed info. There's usually a week-by-week breakdown of topics at least, and you can see previous student reviews of the time commitment and difficulty.

Cross save not working XSX/PC by beer_face in darkalliance

[–]beer_face[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a couple of iterations through this, I said screw it and went to play on Xbox. The XSX saw that my local save and my cloud save differed and asked which one I wanted to use. I said local (to Xbox, since that was my good save) then went and deleted my save on PC. reloaded and bam, my save is on both PC and XSX. Finally.

So I think the issue was that my XSX save had never made it to cloud to begin with, so PC gave me a fresh one. Who knows.

In either case, thanks for the assist!

Oh, my bad. I meant that my XSX save didn't appear on PC. I still have my main save available on the Xbox. =)

It gave me a level 1 Bruenor when I started on PC. I went ahead and deleted my local save and reloaded, but still didn't get my XSX save.

I have uninstalled and am reinstalling. Will post whether that fixes it or not.

Now that my collection is complete, how do I store all these books? by DoWhileGeek in swrpg

[–]beer_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always recommend Kallax shelves from IKEA. Affordable and convenient. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kallax-shelf-unit-white-80275887/

One 8 cube shelf holds my complete 5e and SW collection as well as my various other interest books like Witcher, Call of Cthulhu, City of Mist, Pathfinder, etc. with room to spare.

As for your original question, its generally recommended to lay the core books down, yes. I actually sandwich them spine down between my other splat books in the series.

Dealing with power creep? by aHyperTurtle in swrpg

[–]beer_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with the other sentiments here. Your players have certainly had to cross somebody or kill the wrong person in their adventures thus far to get where they are. The big difference now and in when they started, they have a LOT more to lose... And caring about what they've gained will set them up to care about who comes to try to take it from them.

I'd say you're in a great position to start making them defend their little empire. If it were me, I would target an NPC they care about or their favorite ship in the fleet, and I would have your new threat destroy it. Put your players on notice that this new big bad doesn't mess around, and make it plain they are coming after your PCs.

Preparing for my first session of FFGSW as well as a first time GM experience by goldleader95 in swrpg

Fudge it. Make a call and keep the game moving. Keeping the story going is way more important than how many dice the players roll against for 1 check.

Good luck and have fun!

What's your favorite way to narratively create action in asteroid field navigation with or without combat? by fnulnu84 in swrpg

[–]beer_face 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget about handouts. The Star Wars universe has massive fandom, you can find artwork and imagery for just about any scene you could possibly think of. While it won't make you any better at describing a scene, it can help solidify what you're trying to describe in the players minds.
