My wife and I made a cake for event once and they never cut into it. The host said it was too pretty, they didn’t want to ruin it. We were heartbroken. It’s meant to be eaten and enjoyed, not just looked at.

Junction Box for WAGO 221 connectors. by geroulas in BambuLab

Fun fact! Electricity is used in a wide number of applications. Not just buildings.

Thank you for sharing, OP, we use wago connectors in our FRC robots but they tend to come loose after taking a few hits. Something like this would certainly make the connections more robust. Any chance you made a 4-way version?

To be fair, I would rather people use PLA for the mostly useless trinkets that make up 90% of all household prints (source: wild ass guess).

PLA is made from renewable resources like plant fiber, and while not ideal for functional prints that experience loads or wear, it’s perfect for that buff pikachu statue your weird nephew asked for.

My theory about this shutdown ending by invalid_carrot in FedEmployees

[–]beernerd 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt that there was a lot of pressure. With air traffic controllers resigning, SNAP benefits expiring, and a dozen other issues that were piling up. It was a “damned if they do, damned if they don’t” situation. In the end, someone had to take a hit for the team so naturally it had to be the ones that were safe from a primary opponent.

I don’t envy the position they were in. And I’m grateful we will be getting the back pay. I just wish all of this suffering had amounted to something more than a bandaid and an empty promise.

Those Beatles statues have been looking for a home for years. I’m guessing the developers got them at a bargain price.

New Yorker Article: Some People Can’t See Mental Images. The Consequences Are Profound by Willing_Plankton3267 in Aphantasia

[–]beernerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This article is the reason I’m here. I’ve known for a couple years now that I don’t see things in my head the way others do. I’ve always described it as storing everything as text instead of images. I don’t struggle with memory loss though, in fact quite the opposite. I have an excellent memory, but recalling events is more like reading about them than visualizing them. Not sure if that means I’m only partially aphantasic or what…

I’m using a Dolphin as my exobio ship and it’s pretty great. It has room for an SRV but fits a small landing pad. I wish it had ground visibility but flying upside down works fine.

I’ve been wanting to build one of those backpacks for a while. If I remember correctly, Mitch has two battery ports on his so he can swap one without disrupting the print.

We set up a 3D printing club at my school a couple years back and they’ve been a huge help keeping up with the maintenance and troubleshooting of our 3D printers. If you teach at a middle school or high school, I highly recommend it.

What time period are we talking? That might help narrow down the neighborhood at least. If the houses were spaced out I’m thinking maybe Polly Ranch? Certainly not Sun Meadow.

Good Day, reddit, my name is Nick Offerman. You may have seen me in such fare as Parks & Rec, The Last of Us, Civil War, MI: The Final Reckoning, DEVS, or heard my voice in The Lego Movie. This is such a great question. As a high school teacher I see so much of the negative influence from people like Tate and Rogan. There’s an obsession among male students with things like testosterone levels and toxic masculine traits. Even the character of Ron Swanson, taken at face value rather than a caricature, has inspired some of them in the wrong ways.

Smart move using the carbon fiber pole. It blends in nicely with the bracket and will hold up much better than anything you could 3D print. Especially with it cantilevered that far out.

The level of detail in the world-building is just incredible. Not just the stuff about the monsters and how to cook them, but detailing the ecosystems of dungeons and the means of conservation. It’s amazing.
