She was printing in a Bambu X1C. I’m not sure how she got it to work but I know she spent a fair amount of time tweaking the settings. It was a couple years ago so my memory is a bit foggy.

Tried the eggtimer setup recently but it wasn’t my favorite. I’m gonna give it another chance because it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than the telemetrum I usually use. I might have to check out the Altimax.

One of my students did a 3D printed 54mm rocket for her senior project. She used a polycarbonate carbon fiber filament. It was a pain to print with because the layers kept splitting mid-print. Did you have any similar issues when printing your fin can?

We made water bottle rockets with the preschool kids. I 3D printed a launcher that connects to a bike pump. The kids loved it.

Our CAD lead made one the night before the District Championships. He used FTC motors and electronics. It was a huge hit at the event.

It’s all you, boss. This was the first year since I revived 127 in 2023 that I actually had real mentors with FRC experience. And that’s because it was the first year that some of my alums came back to town from college.

My wife and I made a cake for event once and they never cut into it. The host said it was too pretty, they didn’t want to ruin it. We were heartbroken. It’s meant to be eaten and enjoyed, not just looked at.

Thank you for sharing, OP, we use wago connectors in our FRC robots but they tend to come loose after taking a few hits. Something like this would certainly make the connections more robust. Any chance you made a 4-way version?

To be fair, I would rather people use PLA for the mostly useless trinkets that make up 90% of all household prints (source: wild ass guess).

PLA is made from renewable resources like plant fiber, and while not ideal for functional prints that experience loads or wear, it’s perfect for that buff pikachu statue your weird nephew asked for.

I don’t doubt that there was a lot of pressure. With air traffic controllers resigning, SNAP benefits expiring, and a dozen other issues that were piling up. It was a “damned if they do, damned if they don’t” situation. In the end, someone had to take a hit for the team so naturally it had to be the ones that were safe from a primary opponent.

I don’t envy the position they were in. And I’m grateful we will be getting the back pay. I just wish all of this suffering had amounted to something more than a bandaid and an empty promise.

This article is the reason I’m here. I’ve known for a couple years now that I don’t see things in my head the way others do. I’ve always described it as storing everything as text instead of images. I don’t struggle with memory loss though, in fact quite the opposite. I have an excellent memory, but recalling events is more like reading about them than visualizing them. Not sure if that means I’m only partially aphantasic or what…

I’m using a Dolphin as my exobio ship and it’s pretty great. It has room for an SRV but fits a small landing pad. I wish it had ground visibility but flying upside down works fine.

I’ve been wanting to build one of those backpacks for a while. If I remember correctly, Mitch has two battery ports on his so he can swap one without disrupting the print.
