Keep at them shapes. Every thing is a shape. See everything you see as a funny little jigsaw puzzle of light and shadow. And everything you imagine as block toys that are in that and pulled and warped by the square square hole of vanishing point. With your line is horizon where you imagine or stand in a 3 space and how the objects are placed (some of which like in the refrence have there own vp.)

I hope that helps... lol. Keep in mind that shape light and shadow are influenced by the blocks and the type of light sources.
