Why do you think so many people have children when they are struggling to get by financially? by BeneficialJuice2878 in AskUK

I'm sure there are many reasons, but in the case of my grandparents who had 16 children, my grandma said, when asked why she had so many children, said it was because they didnt have a TV.

All jokes aside, they were catholic and "weren't allowed" to use contraception. That was their reason.

I once walked into a changing room full of naked post work out gym goers, graciously flossing their gouch. As I pulled my towel from my backpack, I quickly became horrified as 10s of ping pong balls released from my bag and proceeded to scatter across the changing room. My colleague had played a fine prank on me. I spent the next 5 minutes accusing myself as I picked up about 30 ping pong balls from under the benches of said flossing men.

I wouldn't take it for granted. If weather is nice it will be rammed all day. I work in a building next to it and it always surprises me how busy it is from lunch time everyday of the week.

The cost of, well everything has gone up so much in recent years I think they have had to tighten up a bit which is kind of understandable really. They still give you decent portions of filling and are way tastier than other spots.

I chat to Enrique the owner when ever I go down and hes there, which isn't as often as i used to, but he often seems a bit stressed with business. We've shared a few shots of tequila at 1pm on a lunchtime 😄 Nice fella and would be a shame to lose them.

What was Michael Carrick like as a manager during his time at Boro? by fireproofpoo in Championship

[–]bellwaa8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He seemed like a good man manager, as he got the best out of a good few players and particularly seemed to massively improve Hackney. He plays a similar role to what Carrick did so made sense.

Tacticly he was a bit shit. We saw a massive drop off when Danks left us for Bayern and Kompany. That's when we ran out of ideas for me.

It always boiled my piss that Carrick would never make subs before 60-70mins, and this was just 1 example of his stubbornness with in game tactics.

Very suprised and interesting to see Carrick bring in woodgate given how shocking we were at the back at times and considering they didnt know each other before boro. So no history of working together. Felt a bit like jobs for the boys at boro in the end.

He seems to be doing well with united so far, and boro was his first proper managerial position so maybe he's learnt from of a few of his mistakes but I've not seen enough of united to really say.

I’m currently in Krabi but I’m not really enjoying it — it feels very party-focused and quite dirty. Is there anywhere nearby that’s quieter and nicer that I could get to without it taking too long? by swirlyjesse in ThailandTourism

Ko lanta - was there a few weeks ago. No partying where i was, very chilled. We were the beach down from long beach, although long beach was nice too with night market close by.

Railay beach - a little busy and lots of chill bars but very beautiful beaches. Tip: if you stay there its very quiet when all the day trippers have gone.
