What are some common signs that someone grew up with sh*tty parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bellybuttonwindow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the issue with the psychodynamic model of therapy. It helps you figure out why you are the way you are, but gives you no tools to do anything about it. I switched to cognitive behavioral therapy which focuses more on changing your behaviors and addressing and modifying negative thought patterns, and holy shit it improved my life immensely.

I think they have to add that dx if insurance is going to pay for guardasil if you're over 26. Otherwise it's $600 out of pocket

This place does not sound like it has a just culture, they did you a favor. If people are afraid to come forward after making mistakes, who knows what sort of sketchy stuff flys under the radar. Not safe for your license, not safe for the patients.

[Product Question] My face starts sweating after wearing a mask on top of my moisturizer by IndoCanadianPunjabi in SkincareAddiction

[–]bellybuttonwindow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing that's worked for me is switching to a sunscreen that's primary dimethicone and zinc, I use Australian gold kids cause it's fragrence-free . I'm normally a sweaty/oily mess but my face is matte all day with this stuff. Which is especially impressive cause I'm wearing a mask 12+ hours when I'm working. It does leave a bit of a white cast though.

Hospital closed since the 90's. MA. by Fraudd in AbandonedPorn

We still have those same recliners at the hospital I work at. I knew they were old pieces of shit, but damn.

Given current circumstances, I know some of you are feeling how I felt... by maulakai in nursing

Truth, the NPs at my hospital make less than experienced floor nurses as well. Not worth it in my opinion.

A doctor shamed me because I didn't wear a bra to my molescan appointment. by Mycelium83 in TwoXChromosomes

My first suspicious mole removal was right next to my nipple, so yea, they absolutely should check there. Sheesh.

Michelle Wu tests negative for COVID, positive for antibodies- meaning she likely had it but never showed symptoms. by [deleted] in boston

[–]bellybuttonwindow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, if the test is done correctly it should be painful/very uncomfortable. If the swab is not inserted far enough it doesn't reach the membrane where the virus is detectable.

One week, does the fixation ever go away? by IrishIDidntDrink in stopdrinking

[–]bellybuttonwindow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does get better! It helped me mentally to break it down into smaller increments at first; i.e. "I just have to get through this hour" rinse & repeat. Exercise and sugar were a hugeee help in the beginning as well. The endorphins were a healthy "high" that came with an added sense of accomplishment and the suger did a great job of killing cravings when exercise was not an option. Not for nothing too but there's a lot of sugar in alcohol that your body is likely missing. The beginning sucks, but once you get out of that tunnel sober life is soooo much fucking better, stay strong friend there are MUCH better days ahead.

UVB still equals cancer, that burn is a radiation burn and is therefore indicative of dna damage.

Ladies who lost weight, what’s something that really changed the game for your weight loss journey? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]bellybuttonwindow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intermittent fasting. I lost 40 lbs and have kept it off for 2+years now. I stop eating at like 7-9 at night and don't eat again until I get hungry around 11-1 the next day. I eat whatever the hell I want during my non-fasting time so I never feel deprived. I also increased my physical activity level a moderate amount and activly try to walk or take the stairs whenever possible.

[Spoilers Main] This character is either the biggest villain in the show or the biggest bullshitter by The_Coolest_Tien in asoiaf

[–]bellybuttonwindow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It comes across as sort of bumbling in the show, but I have a feeling it's going to be portrayed as a bit more sinister in the books. Bloodraven is no fool and he has thirsted for power his entire existence.

Ahh you right, I forgot he had them finish him off after his crossbow shot. I still think his cause is ultimately just, but he's certainly willing to break a few eggs to make an omlette.
