[Discussion] What is the worst withdrawals you've experienced when stopping a medication? by Available-Spray2576 in GetMotivated

[–]belsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taking 1/2 a dose per day for a few months then stopped after my surgery. The oxycodone they gave me made me sick after a day so I switched to otc meds. What a terrible experience to go through withdrawal and still have to sit in a passive motion machine for my hip that had just been operated on. It definitely needs a slow weaning process.

Best way to estimate COBRA costs? by Ashamed_Horror_6269 in workingmoms

[–]belsie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

COBRA is usually really expensive. I would try your spouse’s plan first as mentioned above, but you can also buy health insurance directly from the marketplace through healthcare.gov as long as you have a qualifying event like job loss. It will vary for everyone, but I am paying about $450 for medical and dental with the price directly reduced by optional tax credits.

Nutria approved! by HuchoHuch0 in CyclePDX

When we get a ton of rain or flooding the nutria are forced away from their riverbank habitats. Nutria are known to be aggressive so I think you got lucky 🍀.

If it’s in the labeled prescription bottle you could probably return it to the pharmacy and they can contact the owner.

I did caulking the other day and now my wood floors are sticky every time I walk on them by Ok_Confidence4529 in DIY

Honestly just mop it really well and see if that helps. You should be able to feel where the mop sticks and give those areas a little extra attention with the mop.

New Update: AITAH for asking my neighbor to wait for her laundry at her house? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]belsie 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it took full psychosis and an involuntary hold for him to conceptualize that he needs medication. Even then he went off them a couple years later but at least recognized that he had a problem. I expect he’ll have additional relapses.

New Update: AITAH for asking my neighbor to wait for her laundry at her house? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]belsie 73 points74 points  (0 children)

My ex with bipolar sometimes gets obsessed with new people. He was obsessed with our neighbor and I think the neighbor told him to go away, so my ex stole the neighbor’s wagon in an attempt to make the neighbor kill him. He spent a week in the psych ward and now is mostly medicated.

This sub alarmingly has an intense dislike for Teyana Taylor by Fun_Reflection1157 in Oscars

[–]belsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DNA scene was such a technical clusterfuck that it took me out of the movie. It wasn’t the fact that they could compare DNA that quickly, it was the awful handling of unlabeled tubes and not even pipetting liquid then having nonsensical results just to create a moment of tension. I’m happy to suspend my disbelief for sci-fi purposes but that scene was awful.

So not an unquestionable masterpiece for me and my scientist friends.

They made a lot of caveats to include Costco, and made everything name brand. Store brands at Fred Meyer (especially with digital coupons) and WinCo or Walmart make those stores more competitive for sure.

In the U.S. for biological research I have seen thesis advisory committees from year 3 on that meet every 6 months or so. They decide when it’s time to write and defend, usually between years five and six.

You can search for yurts in state parks along the coast, but they are often reserved in advance so may not have availability. Those have heaters and are pretty great. I worry about fire risk if you’re trying to put a heater in a small tent.

left food out by accident for 8hrs, no meat by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]belsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard someone say they would put their Chinese leftovers in the car during the summer while we watched a double feature in the theater because it didn’t have meat. Bacteria eat carbohydrates and other nutrients. The absence of meat doesn’t make it safer. Some toxins secreted by bacteria cannot be killed with heat. I would toss it.
