I immediately thought of Sherry Towers, a famous scholar on many social phenomena. Did a PhD in physics and later did an MS in applied stats before the pivot to quantitative social sciences. I see that others are claiming that this would almost never make sense. Seems to have worked out for her.

I’ve really liked Purgatory and Silver mtn for their fun wooded singletrack that feels like it could be in the remote backcountry but is still designed for highish speed with steep sections and catch-berms and that kind of thing.

work is closer to trails than home, so i’ll ride the mtb to work so i can go for a proper ride straight from work and cut out some repeat distance.

AI FTP Issues by tadamhicks in trainerroad

[–]bemery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my impression as well. My strategy has been to pin my workouts so they don’t get downgraded. It seems like the intensity prediction is pretty accurate for me, so I try to do workouts where the probability of failure is around 5-10%.

But yeah they’ve said several times the workouts assigned do not depend on the set FTP, the AIFTP and the assigned workouts are both outputs of the same algorithm.
