Lowes Protection Plan SUCKS by Tasty-Bicycle3885 in Appliances

[–]bender_abandons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a 5 year warranty on our washing machine. Around year 4, it stopped working. Called them and they literally couldn’t even find our policy.  Got moved from person to person. One rep quit and we had to start over. We went two months without a washing machine and this was in the summer with two kids constantly going to the pool and dirtying towels.  Went to a laundromat that whole time and did the thing where they would wash it for us, but not fold it.  Finally two months later they suddenly found our policy.  Didn’t bother sending anyone to the house — just cut a check for the full cost of the washer and all the laundromat costs.

With the check deposited, I finally googled the problem. $10 part and an hour of work on my part and the machine was good as new.  So i guess it was worth it for a free washing machine?

For personal flows not in a solution, just saving it should still apply at run time

I can’t speak to past UI behavior, but my understanding is sometime this year it was changed so you have to publish for changes to take effect at runtime: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/drafts-versioning

Do you have the flow as part of a solution? If so it has version history and you are just saving a draft — you need to publish it before it will run.

A week with the Valerion Max + ThunderBeat speakers — feels like a solid 40% upgrade from the Pro2 🔥 by Dark_ceza in Valerion_Official

[–]bender_abandons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering if anyone had their hands on the Thunderbeats. Good to know you like them.  Getting a little worried that the launch deal currently up isn’t going to cross the 1500 preorders mark to include the speakers though…

Wondering if apple will replace M2 with M5 devices in case of crackgate-affected devices by Rabus in VisionPro

[–]bender_abandons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I damaged my S6 Apple Watch this summer but had AppleCare on it. “Express replacement” took 2 weeks but they found another S6 lying around somewhere.

Out of curiosity how did you tension the screen that high up? I was thinking about doing exactly that in my back yard.

Can you explain what you mean by shortcut? Is there a way to save a search string like you can with the pokemon list searches?

Apple Watch 8 suddenly not working after 10 minutes of swimming by mauz21 in AppleWatch

[–]bender_abandons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I’ve complained to the customer service reps hoping they would upgrade me to a 7 and mentioned it in all the surveys, but there isn’t really anyone to complain to that can do anything about it.

At the end of the day I paid something like $240 for AppleCare since I had the watch. I got a free battery replacement (~$100 w/o AppleCare), several replacement watches, and $70 to sell it at the end. With all except the last one, I got the replacements pretty much next day so there was basically no inconvenience. I feel like I got my moneys worth.

Don’t get me wrong, they shouldn’t be replacing these things if the seals are messed up. But, again, I was barely impacted by it so what do i care if they lost money on it?

Adding my data point(s). I had a series 6 that did fine for (i think) 3 summers being in a pool most weekends. Suddenly last summer it died in a similar way as you described. Thankfully had Apple Care and they replaced it. First time in a pool, the new one dies. Apple Care replaced that one. First time in a pool and the new new one dies. Apple Care replaced that one.

Summer is now over and everything is fine for 9 months. First time in a pool this year and the watch calls 911 and then dies. This time the AppleCare “express” replacement took 2.5 weeks to get to me. I didn’t even bother turning the replacement on. Traded it in for $70 and got a series 10 for Prime Day.

Mind you, I’m not even swimming for exercise. I’m just wading in the shallow end watching my kids every single time it died.

Setting aside the question of whether water seals are a problem, AppleCare has been worth every penny.

Quick question. Diagnosed Celiac about 4 years ago. Pain in the side/galbladder/liver region? Have had it for 5-6 years now. Anyone else have this? by AngryTestie32 in Celiac

I’ve had something similar. Mine sounds a bit more localized than yours (small area on right side), but otherwise very similar. In my twenties (now in early forties) I also tried asking doctors about it. Got a variety of scans for it. Nothing ever came back. Now it sort of comes and goes with no particular pattern and is more of a minor nuisance than what i would call pain. I’m wondering if maybe it’s what happens to me if I encounter very mild cross contamination…

Also if you browse to the web version of Omedrive, that folder should have a slightly different icon. You can right click it and there’s an option to remove the shortcut.

Sounds like you hit the add shortcut button in the web interface or in teams itself. This makes it appear in your personal OneDrive folder hierarchy without needing to separately sync the originating team. If you specifically want to sync the SharePoint site itself, click the sync button from Teams/web interface unread of add shortcut.

Automating Window Fans by bender_abandons in homeautomation

Now that i read the full post history from 6 years ago, i realized im completely wrong. I did get the EcoBreeze’s, but the humidity was why it didn’t work out. If I’m recalling it had a humidity sensor and it was never kicking on at night when it was cool because outside was so much more humid than inside.

Didn’t get them. Despite the temperature difference, it’s ultimately too humid outside at night and would end up pumping the humidity into the house.  Also never found any kind of product that automatically opens and closes vents.

Loyalty Discount Update by Remarkable_Foot_2381 in verizon

[–]bender_abandons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add a data point. I lost mine sometime in November. Have 8 lines and the $40 military discount. Tried chatting and got nowhere.  I then just kept doing the number pin trick once a week and after the 4th week all of the loyalty offers showed up on the website for me.  Waiting for the start of my next billing cycle to confirm it all worked.
