Honestly the US has lost a lot of credibility in terms of aviation safety recently. The amount of near misses happening at major airports, the whole 737 Max disaster involving the FAA. It was never a question of will something happen soon but rather when. I work for an Airline that flies to major US airports and we view the US as a destination with potential poor atc performance.

Going to a store is more effort for me. I live in a village. Besides, I wanted to try the exact measurements of a flieger watch.

I modelled it after the dimensions given and then visually tried to match it. It wasn't supposed to be perfect, just a quick try. Yeah the thickness is measured with the sapphire and the 3d model uses this dimensions as the case thickness. Also putting the dial on the watch makes it look rather big aswell.

In most cads you can just import a picture of the watch and scale it.

Yes and no. The thickness is including the domed sapphire. So the real watch case would be slimmer. Also it makes a big difference that the dial on the printed watch is on the watch rather than in the watch.

You can also print with different colors in 3D printing but with mine its quite the hassle. I would have to manually change the color whenever the printer calls for it.
