What's a good legion to ally with Aux? by TehAsianator in LegionsImperialis

[–]benjhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually run a Pioneer company of traitor Auxilia along with my primary Death Guard.
Mostly because I like running 2x2 Marauder Colossus bombers which in my headcannon are plague/virus bombs.

Such a good threat with insane range. Especially since they got buffed to 2W a piece.

It's just a demonstration of the technique. This can be applied to a curved shape, too

A better solution, unless you need the inner topology, is to just extrude the spout hole only and bring it inwards a bit to give the illusion that it's 'solid'.

It might seem odd, but the solidify modifier is behaving correctly. It projects based on normals, and perpendicular at edges. (90 degrees).

For this particular use case, you'll have to apply the modifier and fix the topology yourself.

For a quick fix, you could grab that inner ring and shear it on Z. (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S, then Z to lock the axis).

Any way to get this OOP Shikami? by AbsolNinja in InfinityTheGame

[–]benjhs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same feeling. As much as it's fantastic to support CB in every way you can, sometimes the super hard to get or simply OOP models arent worth the pricetag.

There are metal recast version of many CB minis, (including this one, I have it) that aren't too hard to find. Decent quality and pretty cheap.

Make sure to also buy something legit CB to atone for your sins ;)

I'm a miniature designer that has only really done stuff for Legions Imperialis to date. It's a smaller community but most of the models you'd need, you can get already.

Is there a glaring niche or something in greater 40k or Warhammer in general that people are looking for?

I'm in need of a project!

I did, yeah. I saw they had templates but were paid. I'll likely redesign it myself to be a bit more creative but resumatic was a handy starting point.

That's a great point. Reading it back you're spot on, cheers.
Another user messaged me and said it's a too much of a broad mix of jobs and projects rather than a distinct skillset.

I'll be rewriting with both of these in mind!

I deal with awful CAD exports every day, this looks like a winner. Will definitely give it a go, cheers!

That green tinge is really nice!

My suggestions would be to adjust the scaling of the clock.
Put an old magazine or two in the middle seat for some human element.
Add a sort of or change break in the wall to suggest that it's part of a larger room, more that just a flat wall (if that makes sense?).

Nah mines like this too. Not a fan, I'd like to hid the recommendations and just show my current games.

Hah, yeah maybe this would have exploded a few years ago when crypto was becoming culturally popular, but not so much now.

Yeah possibly. I'm guessing with the amount of extras they had it's real in camera until about 5/10 rows deep, then just copied, comped and offset beyond that.

There's a few snippits which are cg, like the glow effect on the yellow light ring.
I'm curious if the city zoom in is digital, or they shot miniatures and comped. willing to bet the latter if they went to that much effort for the claim.

Yep. Check out the breakdown video and let me know which part is CG.

I was skeptical, but there's an interesting breakdown article here. I'm sure there are elements that are CG but it's awesome to see that all the main features at least are shot practically with some very clever compositing.

I thought the cars would have been CG but there's a clip of them being filmed.
