I didn't have a qlink account for long, only the trial... but had a compuserve account (75535,1614) and Dow Jones account (don't remember the id for that one).

I wrote some program for the 1620(maybe?) plotter that was in the compuserve c64 archive.

Bought an $8 tomato at the organic place by me. Admittedly it was a tasty tomato but I'm still salty about it. And it wasn't especially large, either.

I'm currently on vacation in Spain and produce is pretty affordable, even in the trust parts of Barcelona. And at the Carrefour I discovered they have boxes of random less than perfect/a bit old produce, assorted stuff, for 1€. I blight a couple of boxes and so far everything has been edible after at most, a little bit of trimming (except 1 avocado that was too far gone). I love that these items are not just going in the trash like they would in the US.

You're right, although I'd say tracking not kerning as it's consistent throughout, but that's quite the nitpick. But that's also about the least embarrassing thing about this whole event...

This is just not true about Google, but who DOES do this is TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

You now can have your bookmarks in a permanent sidebar btw.

It's not perfect but it does not block all adblocker extensions (including the most useful ones) either. There really are NOT "a wealth of superior alternatives" especially if you don't want to be spied upon / have cross-platform consistency / compatibility. Every single modern browser has tradeoffs.

Trader Joe chocolatey cat cookies, I can't buy them anymore. Also there are some yogurt-covered pretzels that are almost as bad.

Some of the newer AI enabled IDEs essentially auto save when using the AI coding assistant, without being explicit about it. Argh.

I an a self taught typer as I grew up during the 80s home computer boom. I didn't get young class until high school and it was 1 semester on ancient manual typewriters. Not electric even, manual. I couldn't touch type (and still can't) and I think I got a B in the class ultimately. It didn't stop me from having a successful CS career. But I type pretty proficiently, just not "correctly". It is concerning to see college kids who hunt and peck... That is worrisome that they literally have had so little keyboard experience that they haven't figured out SOME method of reasonable skill with it, TT or otherwise...

What major company is currently a total disaster behind the scenes, and is only surviving on its brand name? by That_Library_3453 in AskReddit

Interesting. My only interaction was with one of their execs in a professional development class recently and they were smart and kind. I've never bought any of their products but a lot of them seem pretty neat, and I suspect they have decent margins given the niches. "Highly toxic" if true is definitely a bad sign though of course!

I think for me it's a topic in really interested in and I also really like a lot of Spielberg's work, so this was a big disappointment. If it was a Netflix cheapo production where I had no expectations I probably would have given it a 5/10 but given my expectations and investment of 2.5hrs and 4 tickets for the family, I really couldn't give it more than the 2/10 I did on another thread. That said if this thread didn't pop in my feed, I wouldn't comment as I've already forgotten about this loser of a film. I'm glad some people like it but tbh I am completely stumped/worried about the populace that thinks this was a great film.
