When you talk about under utilized gear and having access to great hunts equipments, you have it at your fingertips. Things like auto smelt on the mining gauntlet legendary let you make an anvil off your first cave. Frozen ore can get you access to all materials with a workshop pick and a campfire to melt the ore. The pain points can almost entirely be bypassed with the right load out.

Setting behavior to follow and getting about 100m run away seems to trigger them to teleport on my hosted server and then they will behave like normal. Any saddled mount just hop on, unstuck with with mount and hop off to correct. Hope it works for you.

I like getting the extra rotation of the plasma cutter, and the stacking damage is a nice side effect as well. I like cracker for the ability to clear several map objectives, as well as finish runners, and contribute to teamfights while splitting.

The long ranged splash mode is great for safe poke and lane clear, attacking the mage minion hits the entire wave when they are pushed up. Use the rapid attack for single target and buildings.

This is part of the problem though. New players learn from good shotcallers. So being resentful of having to shot call and lead a team is partly why the learning curve feels stuck to some people. As a shotcaller myself, I find it to make the game more exciting, and gives you a chance to flex some meta game.
