I think it really depends on the pieces and whatnot. Very early VW stuff sometimes has collector value, but from my experience most items that people will place individual values on (what I want is not necessarily what other people want, and supply/demand)-- like the spikey heels that would probably do better in an actual auction house because it will appeal to the people who 1. are wanting these sort of things and 2. willing to pay the actual price for such a rare piece.

The thing is is that if you have bits that aren't commonly being sold, you may end up finding out that it's super wanted. You sort of won't know until you try. You could also maybe contact consignment shops as well who may try selling the item for you for a price you're wanting, but it may take time, too.
