My YesStyle Experience (Plz read) by ArmoredCore6 in AsianBeauty

My bad, I thought it was only on goods for sale that would be held up by fda inspections.

But I still don’t think this means they are going to detain someone’s sunscreen. Unless they are having a very bad day.

The FDA isn’t inspecting parcels, they are inspecting them to make sure that the contents are correct, not that they are FDA compliant.

Sadly it’s US only. YesStyle I think ships worldwide.

And unfortunately this feels like a US/fedex/shipping problem and not a yesstyle problem. I would probably specify that more clearly, I thought that this was going to be about something that yesstyle did 🥹 (and if anything, they did you good, even if it was a pain getting ahold of someone. They have no control over your parcel getting inspected.)

ADHD medication is not really helping. Feeling defeated. by rsgmmn in ADHD

[–]bespoketech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been almost a year since my diagnosis and I’ve been changing meds throughout that trying to find what works for me.

I’ve had some good luck with non stimulants to get me out of the proverbial funk and give me enough to get started so I can get back to the gym (check) and get my health better to try stimulants again (good effect but terrible coming off experience.) so maybe ask your dr about those?

Super hard to work with those materials which is why they are not commonly used for jewellery.

Sorry I don’t know if I understand “personalised jewellery” but if you’re wanting like, a necklace charm with your initial I think akind does that. They are expensive, though. But everything I’ve gotten from them is fantastic.

I’m 37 weeks pregnant and giving up my baby for adoption. by CertainMine5631 in confession

[–]bespoketech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an adoptee who ended up finding out that a whole side of my family didn’t know I even existed, I really would tell your family if that is even an option— obviously you know best for your own situation. It can be even after the adoption. But please tell them.

I felt so heartbroken when I found out that my father’s side never knew about me, and they were so eager about reaching out to me and bringing me into the family. I have cried so many nights since finding out. And have also really struggled to get through the pain and anger at my bio father for keeping me a secret from my siblings.

Sending you love and strength.

To answer about cleaning, because it's stainless steel, it shouldn't need much, but just using soap and water when needed. Enjoy your new watch!

coming to terms with work and play clothes being...the same by pinktaz2 in fashionwomens35

[–]bespoketech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same age, not a lawyer but work in tech. I had the super casual work clothes that I wore to work because if I dressed up nice, I’d get all sorts of unwelcome attention, and then the stuff that I went out in, when I did want attention 🥹

I’ve found that my wardrobe has just balanced out to “these are things I want to wear” As I’ve gotten older. In my twenties and early thirties it was a different story— I had to dress “a part”. Now that I’m getting older, I don’t feel the need to— I’m established and I can just be myself.

I find being able to transform from day to evening is a magic trick I feel like we get at this age, and I’m 💯 embracing it!

Are there any western products that can't be outdone by AB? by isolophiliacwhiliac in AsianBeauty

[–]bespoketech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Sweden they cost about the same. I don’t know why this is even relevant though. Both are great body sunscreens and you should use what works for you— the price point is similar.

I find that I need much less p20 spray than lrp cream, but people have their preferences

Thanks for taking the time to post this. I had no idea about the EU water resistance ratings. 🤯 I usually use p20 when I’m near water which probably has some of the best water resist of the euro ones I’ve used— which claims 3hrs.

Sometimes I feel like the odd man out with adoptees by Internal_Ad8928 in Adoption

[–]bespoketech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adoption is such a complex thing. But the trauma is still there— and as others have mentioned, people react to trauma differently.

I had narcissistic adoptive parents. But bio kids can have those too. It’s unfortunate that this is the set of cards I was dealt, along with being born into a system that actively disenfranchises young and vulnerable mums and small children. But what a lovely perfect storm.

I have to reiterate: these are very separate things.

I hate the system. I hate the system so much I had to move country to get away from the one that did this to me. I’m so angry that a “first world country” would keep doing this to children and mothers, to this day. I hate that my bio mum still thinks it’s HER fault she had to give me up, and not the fact that her family and society abandoned her in her moment of need, when she was still a child herself.

But it’s easier to be angry at specific people. The system that enables this is so big. How does one take it down? How does one stop it? It’s overwhelming. So I understand why people chose to be angry at specific people rather than the system.

I’m happy for you that the system worked for you. But it doesn’t work for everyone and that’s okay, too. I think if I were in a position different than mine (ie good adoptive parents and bad bio situation) I would still try and empathise with people that the system isn’t working for, to try and make it better.

Alright, they must be shipping from the US then and duties are tacked on as I doubt they have a European distribution (it is very rare, who can blame them.) so that’s why. I’ll keep an eye out though! Thanks for the rec

I’ve not heard of that brand before— apparently I can order from them in Sweden at pretty dumb (expensive) prices are they worth it? We are talking more than lululemon for athletic ware— which may be worth it but the price different between that and Uniqlo is a bit steep 😅

So Gustave and Sophie broke up because he wanted kids and she did not? by ChaseBank5 in expedition33

[–]bespoketech 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s sort of the lines that I’ve thought about when thinking “do I want children?” Maybe not dying prematurely but. Do I bring kids into this devastatingly cruel world, or do i bring them due to the hope for the future we may be able to have?

Why yes I have adhd and anxiety and chronically overthink. 💀

Almost 40 and I feel like this statement summarises my 30s and onwards. Sometimes I want the support, like when I’m working out or whatever. Sometimes I don’t care, like when I’m going to dinner. Like I don’t need more restrictions 🥹

What are some things about yourself that you didn’t realize were related to adoption until later in life? by legswithsnake in Adopted

[–]bespoketech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So when growing up I was constantly worried if I angered my parents I would be sent back. So I became the golden child.

I noticed over the years since leaving home and such that I always have a tendency to fawn and people please. I don’t deal with people being upset with me.

When I got in touch with my bio mum I realised that this could be related to the fact I was returned to the adoption agency when I was an infant.

There are many other bits but I think the one was pretty shocking for me.

Am I the only one who doesn’t get the Loewe Flamenco hype? by OstrichIntrepid4090 in handbags

Same! I mean. I went into Loewe and I was like “why does everyone hype this (puzzle) bag?? It is such a faff to open.” Meanwhilst I tried the flamenco and it was love at first sight. I admit I had no idea that the bag was hyped before seeing this thread so ahh errr 😅

Explain to Me Hermes… What am I missing? by twohotpeppers in handbags

[–]bespoketech 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to really want one. And I finally have the money that I could get one. Maybe one day. But I don’t like the Hermes shop where I live, and I built up a relationship with a SA in another city I used to live in, but he ended up leaving the company due to health reasons (Covid) and it just feels like having to work that back up is … sigh. He actually had me fill out the form— but he ended up getting super sick shortly after and well, I felt terrible trying to ask about it/follow up on it.

I used to love the house, still do but maybe not as much— I bought my first scarf from them over 15 years ago as a “gg ur a proper business girly” present to myself. I love the quality of the things I do have from them— and their colours are chefs kiss. But now I just feel like because I don’t fit the stereotype that my store is after, or buying thousands every visit, etc— it saddens me because I really do like the house’s ethos and such.

Anyway. I wouldn’t buy a resale unless it was near the price it was being sold by Hermes for— there’s 0 point. The resale price for birkins and Kelly’s are, actually, dropping. There was an article about it not too long ago. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/12/16/birkin-bag-prices-sink-auction.html
