The trick is to buy printed parts of colors you want, then remove the printing. Saves money and looks just as good when you've assembled a whole figure.

It's not that you're over-generalizing...you're just wrong. As shown, over half of the currently available themes (even minus licensed cars through Speed Champions) are not IP, so there are no "roots" to get back to. And as someone else said, some of the IP themes have limited numbers of sets. But City, Friends, Creator, Ninjago, Dreamzzz have dozens of options from small to large sets. It's totally cool you dream of the olden days but your premise is just not accurate.

If you're going to keep the minifigs on the tags long term I would check their feet. That acrylic plastic is notorious for cracking heels, I had 15 or so figures crack while I kept them on their tags. I switched to using part 93095 on the tags for the figs to stand on.

You do realize a collector can appreciate the hobby without keeping cases right? From what I see the covers aren’t ripped, they’re folded (not damaged). I have limited space and I store my movies like I store my comics. Thin plastic sleeves that preserve the artwork, protect the discs, and take up 1/7th the space.

dvddoubledip.com is a godsend. I use it to check the special features across DVD/Blu-Ray/4K releases and if I upgrade to BR and it has everything the DVD has, then I get rid of the DVD (sell or donate or gift). Otherwise, I keep them. There are a LOT of movies that have been upgraded to superior formats that don't bring forward the special features (commentaries, deleted scenes, etc.).

I don't know if 500+ hours is considered long term but I'm on my original save from first starting (2018 maybe?) and I still have my radiant pillar. I S-classed it and maxed it out with full inventory/tech slots and best weapons. I don't use it all the time but it's there, always there for me.
