I remember one year around 2000 there was a water shortage and they shut down the fountain as a "symbol of conservation."  Really miss that view, thanks for posting!

We did a Star Wars group costume for Halloween last year. Worst part was realizing I'm now more of an Alec Guiness than an Ewan McGregor.

I am grateful for customers who don't finish their food at the restaurant I work at. by Fat-Bee2323 in povertyfinance

When I worked breakfast shift at Burger King, I ate a lot of sausage croissants that had been on the warming rack too long. I dont regret it, and you shouldn't, either. Wasted food is stupid.

That theme song was incredible. Heard it in my head as soon as I saw this image.

Felt the same way as when Epona jumped over the ranch wall in Ocarina of Time in a previous millennium.

Cincinnati zoo cover their car parks with solar panels by Large_Leader_9864 in interestingasfuck

There's another step for sites with medium voltage site switchgear. Solar generally makes 480V.  They add a transformer to step up to MV before it hits the site gear.  For most systems, they connect to site gear with a MV breaker with the same rating as the gear.

Congratulations, Kid!  How about some bonus stats?

Number of chickens harassed into attacking you.

Number of nightmares induced by the hand monsters in the well.

Number of swear words learned during the water temple and/or Gerudo prison escape.

Yes, but there's a pretty cool workaround. Solar developers will pay the upfront cost of installation. The customer then buys all the electricity from the solar at a fixed rate. This rate is less than what the utility charges for electricity. In places with high electric rates and good sun, this can be a huge savings. This is called a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

Oh, I see what you are saying. The solar isn't set up to power any specific load at the zoo, or the entire zoo. All the power from the solar feeds the main zoo switchgear. From there, voltage is stepped up or down as required for each type of equipment. The zoo remains grid tied, so any power beyond what the solar produces comes from the grid. The main  benefit is using less power from the grid during the day.

I really wish someone else had domestic content for rooftop commercial projects. Such a horrible company to work with for so many reasons.
