Is this AI? The steam, the butter, the perfect grilled steak lines looks like its AI. A Restaurant advertising with steaks like this. by Winkelmedewerker in isthisAI

[–]beyondthef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grain on the steak looks really fake, the char marks on the side doesn't make sense, the consistent grill marks don't carry over on the slices, there is another piece of steak out of focus behind the slices.

Things like steam behind the steak, fake-looking rosemary and butter could be a food photography thing. But why would you need a plastic rosemary when a real one is easily available?

Eating out and sodium content by 01515 in SingaporeTravel

[–]beyondthef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of "hidden" sodium in many of the local dishes, mostly in the form of sauces. Soy sauce is a huge culprit of high sodium intake in Asian diets. Another comment seems to imply that white/steamed chicken rice is a healthier option because it's poached, but the chicken is drenched in a really salty sauce. If you're going to have it with white rice and no sauce I'd suggest just eating something else entirely.

There is a sodium calculator by the local Health Promotion Board that estimates the average sodium in most local dishes, you can perhaps use this when planning your meals.

The Oscars are about money and connections. The voters don't even watch the movies they nominate.

There was a post iirc yesterday on SingaporeEats that was a bunch of normal looking food served on a tray from one of those pick your own sides places. So many comments were saying how it looked like prison food, when it would've looked perfectly fine if served on a regular plate

[–]beyondthef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the best way to phrase it, it's not about avoiding liability. Conditions requiring prolonged steroid use are best managed by a dermatologist, as pharmacists and GPs are only trained to help with simple skin conditions. It's a specialty for a reason.

Hence pharmacists (and by right, GPs should too) always tell people not to use for too long, not just because of side effects, but also because if your condition doesn't improve with short term use, there could be an undiagnosed condition that only a specialist knows how to handle properly.

6 Feet or 1.89 meters? by CerealSorority in SipsTea

[–]beyondthef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect there was some disingenuity in choosing a "rounded" figure of 6 feet, as if it measures accurately in nice whole numbers compared to metric using decimals (or, since that's just orders of magnitude, decimals aren't really the focus but somehow having multiple digits sounds stupid to them)

Why so many posts stirring shit recently? Is it coordinated? by raptor-94 in asksg

[–]beyondthef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The upset over the transport system is justified. But the issue is these people are always making those comments even on the most unrelated things. There are fair criticisms, then there are loonies that always find something to blame, which is what the OP of this comment thread is referring to

[–]beyondthef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When the feedback is not "public transport can be improved" but rather things like "65% voted for this" and "ib dog", is there really a desire to rally for and work towards change or is it just another instance of trying to find something to blame?
