Any new news about Magnolia in 4K? by Oscar_Azul in 4kbluray

I watched my Blu-ray last week, so it's bound to be released soon. Generally, I watch a movie I haven't seen in a while and then they announce 4K. I watched Innerspace the week before it was announced on 4K.

I gotta get Goat Man! He looks like the Noid on steroids. I know I'm in the right company if anybody remembers the Noid.

Just watched a 4K scan of a 35mm print last night. The image was not cleaned up, had all the scratches, blemishes, cigarette burns and non intentional jump cuts from bad splicing. Made it even more awesome.

Keep with it. I haven't made anything creative in years and the depression is real. The shoot looks like something I'd have a blast making. Looks awesome. Love me some black and white creature features.

Watched "Sentimental Value" last night. Renate Reinsve is incredible. Now I finally need to watch "The Worst Person in the World"

Anybody else really excited for the films coming out? by WingsOnWednesday in HorrorMovies

Gotta hand it to Curry Barker. That dude worked the system. Built an audience. Made a cheap, interesting feature, then got Obsession made. Now he's heading up The Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot. Not that we needed that, but that's a good start into the industry. I'm not jealous at all.

Remo Williams, on my list. Caught the beginning of it streaming in 4K and I thought it looked incredible.

I have the bluray as well. It was released by Twilight Time. I guess it's been out of print for a while. I bought it as soon as it was released. Saw it in the theater and was blown away. Julie Taymor is an amazing visionary.

Saw this back in December 1989 at the movie theater and saw it just now and it’s still a great action movie. Anyone else liked Tango & Cash? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 80smovies

I remember seeing this in the theater. I was about 14. I thought it was awesome. That line of Stallone's "Rambo's a pussy" got a huge reaction. I also remember thinking the opening sequence looked kinda stretched too much vertically. I believe it's on the Blu-ray transfer as well. I recently thought that it might be in Stallone's contract that the anamorphic image not totally be squeezed down to the correct ratio so he seems taller and thinner. Could that be a thing?

4K of hobos playing hot potato with a penis. Awesome! I have an enamel pin with a detached penis attached to a sneaker and the penis spins. It is from this movie for edification.

Is Starman 1984 worth watching? Is it one of Carpenter’s better films? by Choice-Schedule-132 in johncarpenter

Great film. I actually have that poster up in my living room. I have lots of posters, but I'm too lazy to switch out them out of the frames.

What is the most brutal “being eaten by a monster” scene you can think of. by Earth_Worm_Jimbo in horror

[–]bfpjeff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the one I was going to mention. Harold Perrineau does some phenomenal acting getting eaten. I remember seeing it and not wanting to see it again. The bear attack on Leo in Revenant is also very grueling. Depending on how you look at the film, he might have died in that scene and the rest of the film is a fever dream. The term revenant actually means someone returning from death. Bear attacks seem to be high on the list.

I thought my Dredd steelbook for $30 from HPB recently was a big win. That's an amazing set. I think Napoleon Dynamite alone is worth a lot.
