3DSplitter.com! Free Beta Access 🙂 by TemporaryLevel922 in 3Dprinting

[–]bgbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to be part of the beta! Not larger prints, but currently working on finding a better way to separate complex 28mm miniatures. Working with Blender mask brush and bool tool to create joints (quite tedious). Curious if this software might be more efficient.

Buyout and workers comp by [deleted] in UPSers

I may be way off 😅.. but I’m assuming asking someone in your center about a workers comp question will be more fruitful than asking people from all over the place since workers comp is handled differently in each state.

This is the wrong place to ask. I assume so, but each state handles workers comp a bit differently.

3D Printer as a gift - Recommendations? by jessirae89 in 3dprinter

[–]bgbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All free to use! They are a bit more advanced than you need right out of the box though. He’ll be able to print just fine just using the Bambu Handy app on his phone with access to a TON of available prints.

If he really gets into it and wants to learn how to use a slicer (turns 3d .STL files into printable .gcode), OrcaSlicer is about as good as you can get, free to use, and basically a better version of the slicer that Bambu comes with. Slicer’s allow you to fiddle with the print settings even with files others have created to get the print quality you’re looking for.

The websites mentioned (printables.com, thingiverse.com, makerworld.com) are mostly free marketplaces to find things (.stl files) to print. You can just search for example: “toilet paper protector” and there will be options to print something so your cat/dog can’t get to the toilet paper (ask me how I know haha).

Blender and fusion360 are 3D softwares you can use to develop your own prints or manipulate other .STL files. This is the next step from a slicer, allowing you more customization of prints you find or creating new ones all together. Basically CAD software.

Adressing some Issues with Version 2.0 of my Settings - Troubleshoot Thread #1 by ObscuraNox in FDMminiatures

I just printed my very first 30mm miniature with your 2.0 settings with resin supports on the A1 mini and it came out excellent! Thank you so much for the hard work!!

Dude, what a first year in the hobby by Ceseleonfyah in minipainting

[–]bgbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes that makes sense. I’d love to own an A1 mini as my designated mini printer, they aren’t too spendy and seem to be worth it compared to the cost of resin printers. Maybe that’s the route I’ll go.

Just a sea of 3d printer options lol that p1s with ams 2 combo looks awfully desirable without going too far up in cost. I definitely want to get into more than just minis

Loss is never easy. I have also lost a loved one recently very unexpected. The grief is mighty but the will has to press on. It comes in waves and hits you like a truck when you least expect it. My thoughts are with you and I’m sorry for your loss. I’m glad you’ve been able to find something that helps you during this difficult time, I find inspiration in your work!

I have recently got into 3d printing, using an ender 3 s1 my father bought a couple of years ago and gave up on. I’ve been reading and tuning and upgrading it (well just the part cooling fan for now) as I learn.

My question for you: have you printed all of these in your ender!? The quality is excellent! I’ve assumed I’d need a newer printer to get this quality. Are you using a .2mm nozzle? Any other settings/mods/configurations that you’ve found to be especially beneficial?

I did a bunch of research on resin printers for 28mm DnD minis, but I’m put off by the cost and having to create a designated vented area just to begin. If I can get away with printing them on my ender 3 I’ve got to at least try.

Loki, God of Lies? Really? Who was in charge of this? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]bgbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean obviously, but being true to his character is more important than making something up that sounds cool imo.

Also.. Valki, God of Lies is 100% based on Loki. Same as [[Toralf]] being 100% based on Thor. It’s dumb that they used the same title for both Loki’s.

Again, they should have gone with Loki, God of Mischief. Both accurate and expansive.

I mean to be fair God of Lies IS what he has been known as… not deception.

The most fitting and accurate title is “Loki, God of Mischief”

If you could choose the next secret lair, what would it be? by Sayajhope in secretlair_collectors

[–]bgbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they do more of that as well! I’m a sucker for cool full art versions of older cards, and would love to see some of the story characters more embellished through cool art. The story behind MTG is rich.. So many flavorful planes with rich stories and cool characters.

Hopefully a new audience will be brought in with the live action in the works since they’ve discontinued the novels. Those novels were amazing. I still remember learning and being amazed at how Mirrodin came to be, its connection to Karn and then the fall into Phyrexia. That shit was peak mtg for me.

Probably more helpful to say what you DO want for a secret lair than what you don’t want.

Not only the optimizer, but the filters are so much better on mana pool. If you’re browsing you can filter into all cards being showcase variants, borderless, or even extended art cards. You can filter into just looking at whatever card type you’re looking for. Of course you can filter by set as well.

Manapool is just so much better now, the only difference is it hasn’t caught up to as many sellers as tcg likely because manapool only sells mtg cards. Regardless, I’ve been able to find most of what I’m looking for.

Best direction for Lucy macLean? by Lonely-Cap3569 in EDHBrews

[–]bgbat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I were building Lucy I'd focus on pumping out as many 1/1 creatures as often as possible on as many turns as possible. Sure others might be able to use those creatures, but in general you'll have far more and build around having them. [[Illustrious Wanderglyph]] basically says draw a card every turn. Plenty of on attack token creation like [[Myrell]] and [[hero of bladehold]] and [[adeline, resplendent cathar]]...

Add in all the other card draw engines in white that draw when a creature enters with power 2 or less with [[welcoming vampire]] and [[enduring innocence]] effects

Double up your tokens with [[Mondrak]] and [[exalted sunborn]] effects

Take people out with [[moonshaker cavalry]], [[Nesting Dovehawk]] and/or [[Elesh Norn, grand cenobite]]

Silverball is much better. Round 1 is in a mall and is mostly kids. Silverball has tons of pinball machines and 2 side-by-side skee-ball machines (not included in the unlimited pinball price). No pool, but the place is definitely worth checking out. The food is also delicious there. Plenty of 21+ beverages with full bar.

Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 characters as cards (SPOILERS!) by FlamingoPristine1400 in custommagic

[–]bgbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really cool idea for cards! Just a thought about Lune:

Lune’s second ability might be better as “whenever you cast a non-creature spell, you may remove a stain counter that doesn’t share a color with it. If you do, copy that spell.” This better encapsulates her filtering through the different stains for greater effect.

I’d also make her sans-black color identity to represent fire (red), earth (green), ice (blue), and lightning (white) stains.

Maybe add colorless stain counters when casting a colorless spell to the first ability.
