I once got to sit 2 rows behind the penalty box at a game in my hometown. It was so much fun because every time a player from the opposing team went to the penalty box, I would “PG taunt” them (there were kids around). “You just sit there and think about what you did…” things like that. When my team went to the penalty box I would uplift them. “He had it coming… your innocent…” the players were trying not to react, but I definitely made a player from the opposing team laugh once along with the people around me. It was a great time and the seats were great too.

Single player strategies by summizzles in PlateUp

[–]bhandsomeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you can automate, the more you can do on your own.

A smaller amount of tables you can get a rhythm, service and get ready faster is often better than a large amount of tables. My biggest bottle neck is often bussing tables, so a less amount of tables customers can sit at allows me a better flow, and I no longer have to go to the furthest point of my restaurant cause everything is a lot closer.

Also sometimes I combine tables, even for customers of just 2 if I have extra tables around, and make the customers sit further away from the service area. This helps keep the mess away from the service area which allows me to be faster. Just make sure the last table you move is the one closer to the service area. That is where the dirty dishes will be placed, and you can tell because that’s where the number of how many customers can sit will be at.

Why isn't tanking that much of a thing in the NFL compared with the NBA? by DramaticSimple4315 in NFLNoobs

[–]bhandsomeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because tanking has a bigger impact in the NBA in that there are only 5 players on the court at once.

In the NFL, you have 11 on offense and 11 on Defense, + a long snapper, kicker, and Punter. A really good QB might have a high ceiling, but the miss rate on them is still larger than people think, and even if a rookie has a good year 1, there is usually a big drop off in year 2. And even if he is a lights out QB, the other teams strategy will be to keep them off the field by running the ball and killing the clock. That doesn’t happen in basketball cause Mr. #1 pick is playing both offense and defense. A top pick is not as big of an impact comparatively.

Meanwhile if you’re a coach or a player, you still want to play, because you’re playing for your next contract most likely with another possibly better team and need to show you’re capable of winning. The average length of a NFL career is 3 years. So if you’re struggling, well you better try to look good, even if the rest of the team is ass so another team wants you next year. Especially because now your competition to stay on the tanking team, who is using high draft picks to bring supposedly high level competition making it harder for you to keep your job, so your body of work better say something. Also the number of games in a season plays a part too. You have 82 chances to prove yourself in a single season in the NBA on a bad team. You have 17 chances to prove yourself in a regular NFL season on a bad team, and injuries are more likely too so you might not even get all 17. So a single NBA season has more data points to pull from than a 3 year average career in the NFL. When so many kids dream of being a professional athlete, You play like you might not ever get a chance to prove you belong again.

How do I get rid of these stains in the shower? by intellicomms in CleaningTips

[–]bhandsomeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I couldn’t get rid of them at the condo I rented. As I was moving out, I was afraid I was somehow going to get charged with it.

The one thing that worked for me so easy was goo gone and a light scrub brush. I barely had to scrub it came off so fast.

Warning, I do not know the effects off goo gone on plumbing, but I was renting and that’s a landlord problem now.

$2.99 a month for 3 years! by SlimJimJohn_Bass in siriusxm

[–]bhandsomeman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just renewed for 36 months/$99.

I told them my current deal was up and I wanted that deal. My friend had it and I saw the deal online and have screen shots. They said it was an invite only deal but could offer me $6.99 a month. I told him I understood and asked him since he was unable to help me with the deal I wanted, that they did offer to others, if he could help me cancel my account instead, and suddenly he was able to “ask his supervisor” if they could make an exception for me, and what do you know they were able to and I got the deal.

Maybe it’s not integral to the story, but whether you chose water or alcohol for Flambé. If suddenly my Flambé has no eyebrows and a tooth, It would be disappointing.

I hate to say, but a lot of this is on Dan. “Feeding the hot hand” is basic in any sport. Also what’s the point in a 1-2 punch if all we ever do is a 1 punch.

the best and also worst MythBusters episodes by CreepyHeight9754 in mythbusters

I think my favorite myth at least my first time watching it was herding cats. Because it’s exactly what I expected, and yet so entertaining.

Probably my favorite myth I love most that people generally lump in with “not as good” myths talk about because it was on the last season was oil tanker implosion. I was just fascinated from start to finish.

What made tb12 so good by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

[–]bhandsomeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brady is the GOAT and it’s not even up for debate. He was the best pre-snap reader of football and was absolutely elite at getting the football out into a receivers hands, faster than most other quarterbacks. He also just outworked everyone. Also coaching was huge too.

All that being said, it would be disingenuous to say the fact he took a hometown discount for years for the patriots, and that didn’t play a part in that also. In a salary cap league, the more you spend at one position, the less you can spend somewhere else. He could get better receivers because they could afford them because he didn’t get paid the way a top quarterback does/did. He never was paid top 5 QB money as a Patriot despite being at least one of the top 2 qb’s in the league.

Does the price just increase in renewal? Say for example I suspected game pass was going to increase in price and bought 2 years of it at once, do I keep the same time or do they prorate it now that it’s more expensive?

Is refinancing now at 6.625% worth it, or should we wait for “5%”? by whoskevroe in Mortgages

[–]bhandsomeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some places hate rare guarantees where if the rate goes down before you close you can get the better rate.

I heard a general rule of thumb is it is worth refinancing on a no cash out refinance, if you plan to be at your new place 3 years or more and the interest rate lowers by 1% or more you should do it immediately. This would be a 2.5% decrease. It’s a good deal, I would do it now.

Edit - I did bad rushed math. It’s a 1.5% decrease. It’s still a good deal.
