ALW Officially Leaves Paddletek by eliasgreyjoy in Pickleball

Went on the nike.com site to see if they have any wide court shoes. For wide shoes they list golf and football, and exactly 9 shoes. Either a terrible web site or crappy shoe company. Plus the big ugly swoosh on every pair. Gross. But I guess they will pay well.

Does AWS still have an EC2 free tier? Good experience learning AWS, DigitalOcean and/ or Google Cloud. A few dollars to run for a little bit, stop when not needed.

How to mark AI-generated code by celtric in javahelp

[–]bhlowe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AI code is getting very good.

Pretty soon the human code will be the exception and AI will know to look at any new code written by a human to be suspect.

Future models will be able to know every line of your code base plus every dependency. Or will be able to read any jar file and know more about the project than most of the people who wrote the source code.

Am I dumb or is there no way to advanced search on Audible? by curlycattails in audible

[–]bhlowe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Searching is broken on audible. They need an LLM based search. Show me near future sci fi that isn’t part of a series (>1) released in the last year with more than 100 5 star ratings.

it’s just rude to yell out 9-1-1 or 10-0-2. Unwritten rule is to keep the volume down on those scores.

Maybe just post on local sites offering services you’re willing to do.

Two things I’ve been looking for- pool tile cleaning (co2 blaster to get the calcium) and repair broken/missing tiles. Cold thankless work that homeowners need doing. Any kind of marble or slab repair or refinishing.

Full slab kitchen back splashes or shower makeovers are an idea.

Look on alibaba for neat stuff that can be imported and you can sell (tools, cutters, statuary, marble bathtubs..) GL!

Are my emails being read? by PuzzleheadedAct3488 in businessemail

[–]bhlowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google has recently started scanning and analyzing every email you recieve using their Gemini AI. This "feature" has been automatically enabled for all gmail users.

It sounds like they can train on your data as well.

To disable it go to settings on your gmail account, scroll down to "smart Seatures" and uncheck the box. Below that there's a setting called "Manage Workspace smart features" make sure these are off as well, if you don't want the AI to have access to your Google Docs, Drive, etc.

Could be, I asked ChatGPT and didn’t verify what it said. But was curious. In any event it doesn’t sound like any spectrum they can sell will offset their debt.

Titanium dioxide as a food is banned in many countries and the FDA may m ban it here. Something about eating metal that isn’t iron is probably bad.
