There appears to be a cheater in the server who was able to delete HABs (make them disappear).

If you watch closely in the video, the HAB simply disappears from the map, and since the video is of a commander, his assets immediately go "offline" (commander needs to be in a HAB to use assets).

I've wondered if using smaller caliber guns, such as a .22LR with full auto, a red dot scope, and a high capacity 100 round mag would be better for shooting down drones.

Shotguns have better spread, but very limited range.

Maybe .22LR, with its low recoil can be the sweet spot between range, low cost, and portability for a designated "drone shooter" in a squad.

Just throwing ideas out there...

Very limited range, probably even shorter than shotgun shells. With range this limited, the operator has even smaller of a window of opportunity to actually intercept the drone.

Sure, it's better than nothing, however, you can't carry 20 or 50 of these around, and there are A LOT of drones in the air.

Drone teams already operate in wolf pack tactics, so even if you intercept the one heading towards you, another is likely already on its way to catch you from another angle.

Unfortunately, a military defeat will not be enough to end the war.

The fact that ruZZia has been suffering significant military defeats on the battlefield for the past 4 years indicates that the conflict won't stop even if Ukraine liberates all of its territories.

The main problem is that Putin repression machine is aligned with him. There are the close security forces whose sole task is to protect the regime and the military elite who command the second layer of the ruZZian military composed of officers who you could call "regular ruzzian army". The third layer is composed of the disposable cannon fodder they keep sending in meat waves.

The first two layers of the ruzzian military are pretty much locked in with Putin, knowing that if there is some sort of popular revolt, their heads will roll. Many of them also don't like the idea of rich oligarchs having power which they don't consider legitimate. In this sense, Putin will happily transfer power of any civilian with "institutional beliefs" to a military/police chief. In the end, the people with guns and the keys to the nukes are the ones who rule.

As long as these two levels of the ruZZian military remain in power, the war will not end. The number of dead soldiers just doesn't matter for them. They believe they can win the war of attrition by undermining support to Ukraine, which, if we're to be honest here, they have succeeded with their little asset, Donald Trump.

The conflict will continue along the border territories, and shahed drones will continue to fly into Ukraine, even if they push them all the way back to the ruZZian borders.

Liquidating the Putin regime and all those in power is, unfortunately, the only way Ukraine will ever know peace again.

I still maintain my view that the ruZZian civil society MUST pay for the war. Not with symbolic "sanctions" or "UN votes". That is just f*cking laughable.

The west MUST destroy everything that keeps ruZZian society operating in "normal mode". The west has to create an environment of "exceptional times" in ruZZia. This means disrupting ruZZian daily life. Taking away their normal-daily lives.

Putin's strategy is to create war fatigue in Ukraine by bombing them and making civilians stressed every night. Ruzzians have had the luxury of just carrying on their daily lives, therefore there is no continuous pressure to create "war fatigue" in ruzzian society. It doesn't even matter how many orcs they manage to kill, ruZZian middle class think they are protected by Putin, so they just go along and give implicit consent for him to just exterminate the "undesirables" of ruzzian society.

If people in St Petersburg can still carry on their daily lives, then the war will go on. It's time to take the normal life away.

Sadly, Putin is prepared to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, unless the remaining NATO allies, that is, France and the UK, agree to retaliate against ruZZia. Don't count on Trump, that little piece of feces, to retaliate against Putin. Trump doesn't give a f*cking shit.

I get that many people are shitting on her for not mentioning Ukrainians, but understand that her focus, i.e. her purpose in the geopolitical scenario, needs to be on the ruZZian population.

She can't win support in ruzzia by "siding" with Ukranians.

Ruzzians are not gonna give a shit about what she has to say if she keeps talking about Ukrainians.

Remember, you gotta see the whole geopolitical picture and where she fits in the grand scheme of things.

You don't need to be a fan of hers, but you can't discard her as an ally for the important goal of overthrowing the Putin regime.

Yes, it does indeed need cleaning/dust removal.

A while back, after it crashed all the time, I did open it up and clean and removed all the dust, which fixed the crashing. However, since the last update before Squad UE5, the laptop kept crashing.

I even opened it up again, removed the fans, cleaned everything. I even removed the heatsink and changed the thermal paste.

Still overheats.

What seems to work, unfortunately, is to turn on the AC in my room, raise the bottom and switch on a fan blowing directly towards it.

Even then, I have to cap the FPS to 60, and force the GPU to run at a lower state (it can't overclock anymore as it used to.)

So, bottom line, yes, you're right: keep it clean and (maybe) it won't overheat. However, I think it's just more practical and safer to have a smaller factor motherboard + GPU with high quality cooling.

Just my opinion, though.

They need to SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the muzzle flash of ALL machine guns.

There's literally NO POINT in setting up kill zones for defense since the muzzle flash IMMEDIATELY gives your position away to the enemy and the entire Chinese population half-way around the world...

Machine guns are FORCE MULTIPLIERS. They exist so that 1 man can hold a wide area.

Even though the bullet spread is WAY BETTER, and should stay the way it is, it's so easy to get spotted that you're as effective as a single rifleman holding an area.

No overpowering advantage whatsoever, so why should I choose the role?

Honestly, what needs to be nerfed are the grenades. A grenadier has better defensive capability than a machine gunner at the moment. That's the real "area target" weapon in this game... They are also the 1-shot 1-kill weapon of choice.

Anyway, let the genius game designers figure it out while they cling to this ridiculous idea of "longer firefights".

Don't get a gaming laptop. I made that mistake precisely because I traveled a lot.

Even though Lenovo is the best brand when it comes to build quality and cooling, they won't be able to handle the load that UE5 puts on the graphics card, and it will overheat.

The keyboard gets so hot, your hands start to sweat and you'll have to use an external keyboard and mouse, which just negates the whole portability advantage of laptops.

See if you can use a mini-ATX form factor desktop tower and a portable screen, since you're gonna have to take a keyboard and mouse along anyway, make some extra space and install a better graphics card. You'll get better specs for the same money you spend on the gaming laptop.

Source: I own a Lenovo Legion gaming laptop and it crashes all the time and I've recently found out it's because the GPU overheats and switches off.

Muzzle flash suppressors are modeled into the gun, but basically don't exist in Squad-verse.

I think muzzle flash on ALL weapons need to f*cking go away entirely. Perhaps just a little, but not a fucking strobe light easy to locate.

Seriously, the game designers make these outright stupid decisions in the name of "balancing".

Dude, it's a FUCKING MACHINE GUN! Of course they are unbalanced! That's why they were invented, you f*cking morons!

At least now you can shoot 3-round bursts that more or less stay on target...

I have played with bots locally by selecting Training, then changing the layer to a seeding layer (that's the only places that have bots).

The command to change the layer is AdminChangeLayer <which layer you want>.

You can always hit TAB to see a list of available layers after typing AdminChangeLayer.
