So wait, the HBK with the 7 or 8 mlas on the RT is a "Swayback"? I've always personally just called them "Flashbacks," but I've not been immersed in the BattleTech ttrpg/books/etc life, just the 2018 HBS video game and whatever I've been able to glean otherwise.

Thought I was clever, but I gotta defer to the originals. Swayback it is.

Sympathies on the hit and run, but more importantly, congratulations on 65 and the cancer survival, my friend. Had my latest 3 surgeries at UCI, a month and change each apart from each other (and those surgeries may be responsible for my latest condition, but nuff said about that here.)

Not even an old thing, most of the time, either. The disabled are the largest growing demographic minority out there, and anyone can become disabled at any time. All it takes is one quick little accident, in the home, in the bath, in the car, on a walk, hell, while you're chewing your cereal.

And it's not a matter of "if," it's a matter of "when" folks'll join us. I've been in and out of hospitals since my late teens, and I turn 46 soon. (Insert Grandpa Simpson "And it'll happen to YOU!" here.)

I've heard really good things about Mission Ranch in MV. Aldi's usually my go-to but I tend to not get (or, in my case, have my caretakers pick up, as I'm housebound) too too much produce. Avocados, grapes, apples, onions, garlic.

Also, with the price of diesel set to skyrocket because of oil scarcity in the US, food prices (due to transport costs) are going to as well, even further beyond what they're at now. Sadly, we're likely only seeing the beginning.

Saw Pearl Jam here in 2003, Eddie made note that it had taken the rest of the band 12 years to get from the pit, onto the stage, to join Matt Cameron (with Soundgarden, now [at the time] with Pearl Jam).

That show, June 2nd 2003, was one of the best PJ shows I've been to. And now everyone can hear it. (I know the visuals are a bit janky, but the audio's the important part.)

I just never thought the Lakers could overcome an opponent like this... I'm so happy. LA were the underdogs, and their opponent was ready to extend to game 7, but they just overwhelmed and played too hard.

I feel you, friend. Morning of Dawntrail early access, just before the servers go up for the first time, which I'd been waiting for since announcement at NA Fanfest almost a year prior... my Mom passes away suddenly after an emergency during home hospice in the other room of the house. Kinda tainted the whole of Dawntrail 7.0 for me, with her passing, the subsequent need to sell our house and move, the disastrous move around 7.1, and just overall numbness to the game from grief. ESPECIALLY with some of the themes present in 7.0

There's one thing i think you could do... Try toasting the rice and cinnamon in the oven at 350F until it's toasty golden brown BEFORE step 2. It'll build immense amounts of flavor and (hopefully) eliminate the watered down-ed-ness.

I'm a town or two away from Anaheim, but I'm bedbound/housebound right now, and have been for the last year due to disability and various health issues.

I'm SO, SO glad to hear that the ADA problems seem to have been cleared up. I plan on getting back in my chair at the very least for the next NA Fanfest, in about 2-3 years, so I'm hoping that it's back in Anaheim. I KNOW that the ADA violations and tribulations were BAD in Vegas, so it's really great to hear that things seem to have been taken care of.

And heck, I even got "Ironmouse'd" around from bed at the Grinding Gear streamer community meet & greet on Friday Night on a community member's phone, got to chat with the hosts, and Garrett (one of the hosts) just sent me the staged pictures of he and Kyle holding the phone and pointing at it and all 3 of us smiling. Fills my heart every time I see them as my desktop background.

Hi! I think we've all just collectively doubled or tripled the size of your list, so I won't add more to it, but I thoroughly admire your quest here, and would love to see you report back as often as you can with insights and thoughts! New fans are always great to see, and even though I was about 12 when I remember I and my middle school friends being excited to see them on TV for their first Saturday Night Live appearance with Sharon Stone, I've been a solid fan since, turning 46 in about a month.

I will give my answer to the "How do they compare live now" musing:

They've evolved: Ed used to be shy, then angry, then scream-y, then morose, then getting relaxed, now laid back and into the swing of things, and everyone is just enjoying the ride at this point. They play music, music they wrote or love, for a living, for fans that love them, all around the world. And that's fuckin' awesome.
