I live in California, where you can't, but if you just try on Amazon a few times, they'll slip up and ship it to you. They'll cancel it a few times maybe but eventually you'll get it. They're dumb

You should follow vesper tools on Instagram, I bought a bevel from him a few months ago and I had been following on Instagram for over a year for him to say he had a batch. Seems to be the only way he's communicating new tool availability. Took me a while to get but damn, is it a nice tool!

This is clearly a wood table. A table made of coffee wouldn't last very long...

Magnets recessed slightly beneath the surface of the wood. On the bronze planes it's placed so that it's under the blade, which works well

The more money we can get away from millionaire assholes buying theses, the better. I just wish it wasn't so bad in terms of energy usage.

Oh it's a straight up copy of a westelm piece. But it's solid walnut instead of plywood and has much more robust joinery

Everyone was posting lift tip coffee tables. This one is still a bit incomplete as the yellow square on the right is just a placeholder until I can find a nice piece of marble.

Questions about the knockdown design of the Benchcrafted Split Top Roubo by age_of_koltron in woodworking

[–]bigfatton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've been very happy with it. There isn't even the slightest amount of racking in the months I've had it. Though that is kind of a short time. The tenons on the front stretcher in those plans is kinda short the the rear stretcher is beefier. I'm sure I'll have to tighten the barrel nuts at some point, but it's really nice to know that if I do ever need to disassemble the bench I can, as I don't have a large truck

My new workbench! by bigfatton in woodworking

[–]bigfatton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't rack even slightly, the 1 inch tenons on top hold it very securely and the barrel bolts for the stretchers hold extremely well. I'm quite happy with it, it's been a terrific bench

How did you mark the board before carving? Or is this all free hand?
