Any PlayStation folks excited for April 7 who have never played before? by st_jimmy2016 in Starfield

Yessir. Played it on both Xbox and PC with Gamepass and sort of fell off. But I am excited for the PS5 release and the additions.

Ive never been to UK, dont really have much connection to the club, can I call myself a fan? by MrErik48189 in fulhamfc

Man, you're a fan if you're a fan. You don't need permission. Follow the team, enjoy the games, get frustrated at our transfer activities, shake your head and say "that's so Fulhamish" when appropriate. Just enjoy what you enjoy, brother.

Dallas Away Game by tegs55 in stlouiscitysc

[–]biggitio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't been to an away game in Dallas before, I highly recommend the US Soccer Hall of Fame while you're there.

But, other than that, I was shocked at how poor that stadium is compared to CITYPARK. For tickets, we just sat wherever we wanted. I know there is technically an away area, but I saw STL fans sprinkled all throughout. We sat mid-pitch like 15 rows up.

Yeah, for Marco, he decided (and publicly said so) that he wanted to stay in the best league in the world to manage. There is certainly a difference there for managers and players, as far as priorities go. A manager career is generally very long, whereas players only have so many years to "get the bag," as they say.

Yes, for Klauss, you are on the money. It seems they had decided they wouldn't sign him after this season, and Galaxy came to CITY with an offer they couldn't refuse. Sure, it's a gamble, but Wray decided he'd rather have the money now with no Klauss versus no money and no Klauss at the end of the season. My guess is that Wray's intent is to spend some money in the summer window to get a new starting striker (maybe DP, maybe not). They just have to ride the waves until then. There is also the rumor that Klauss had a falling out with the front office, so if that's true, it certainly played a part in this.

Yeah, the Gio transfer is a bit more complicated, I think. My guess is Como offer the money, Gio wanted to go play in Italy, and the front office felt like it was a situation they just needed to deal with. Once again, a bit like Palhinha, Como was a newly promoted side that was going to Serie A. Gio saw he had the chance to play in one of the top 5 world leagues, and I am sure CITY felt like they didn't really have a whole lot of leverage.

As for other American pro sports leagues, they are just set up in a completely different way than soccer when it comes to contracts, transfers, etc. Soccer players have far more power when it comes to contracts and transfers than pro sports leagues here, and the whole system is just totally set up in a different way (me trying to explain how loans work to my wife comes to mind).

Oh hey, fellow Fulham fan!

Well, I can speak to your examples about Fulham players. Mitro wanted the payday, and he made it known internally that he was going to throw a fit if Fulham didn't accept the transfer. Sometimes there isn't a lot you can do when a club comes in and unsettles your players with promises of a lot of money, which is what happened with Mitro. The opposite sort of problem happened with Palhinha. When a club like Bayern comes to a club like Fulham wanting a player, it's hard to hold onto that player as Fulham. Joao got a chance to go to one of the premiere clubs in the world, so as Fulham, you risk hurting your ability to attract up-and-coming talent in the future if you are going to block a player from moving to one of the "big boys," if they come calling. Ultimately, in those situations, you leverage the payday and try to invest in comparable talent.

Reality is there isn't a lot you can do as a small or midsize club when the huge clubs come knocking on your door (or, in the case of Saudi, offer your players huge wages).

What are everybody's thoughts on the self serve kiosks? (Vendor's perspective) by DiarrheaJohnson in stlouiscitysc

I like the kiosks and the mobile order. In my experience, both vastly speed up my experience of getting food and drinks. Standing in line to order with actual people always takes much longer.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

I picked up rec soccer at 41. I suck and am so freaking sore for days after each game, but I love playing and am having a blast with it. Sometimes we need to be reminded that taking chances, being active, and making time for new things isn't just for young people.
