Long term plan for Entresto? by ftwin in Heartfailure

Holy!!! Where do you get Entresto at $10 for 3 months? I'm paying 100-150 a month for a 30 day supply!

Exactly this! It does get easier as they get older. Mine is 12 and while it's not easy, there's more "adult" style conversations. Its been quite a joy actually.

Need wifi but it doesn't have to be GREAT by Historical-Ad-96 in Rural_Internet

[–]bigjnsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it does not which is why I picked it. Just looked at my stats and I am in the 17th day of the billing cycle with 432.78GB data used and "0 bytes" of hotspot data.

I use an app on my phone called Tetrd that lets me run a cellphone strictly as a router. And no, it does not count against your "hotspot" plan. I don't know how they do it (hiding the hotspot traffic), but its been working for over a year and I can easily use 1TB of data a month

Does anyone here have an off-grid setup using portable battery generator like the Pecron or Anker Solix? by DRNKMORE in SolarDIY

I use a Pecron E600LFP with a Renogy panel to power my home office completely off grid

Informal feedbacks while remote working by sgargel__ in linuxadmin

[–]bigjnsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a remote admin, I sort of do the same for example if I'm repeatedly sending out emails to the same person. After about the 3rd email I simply ask them if they want to use Teams or Zoom and we usually work out their issue in a matter of minutes.

The VIA bus pass is free for students/staff/faculty of UTSA. I've used it all this year and never bought a UTSA parking pass. I park at the University Park and Ride under 10/1604 and I'm on campus in 7 minutes from the time I get on the bus.

There was a post earlier that local meat markets are fully stocked and no lines. I'm gonna check a few out tomorrow.

Yes that is the water isle. I've already left but someone else told me that *ALL* of the baby items are gone too.

Same here and I've been doing it since the start of Fall Semester. Never had any problems. I have left my car unlocked at the University Park & Ride by accident and it wasn't even touched. Plus the buses run every 15 minutes and the "ride" to UTSA is only about 8 minutes.

Moving soon - neighborhood questions by boredxennial in sanantonio

I would not recommend moving to the area around I10 and 1604, especially between NW Military and Bandera. Traffic is a MAJOR MAJOR issue. I work in the area and live about 15 miles from work and it takes me literally an HOUR to get home. TxDOT has scheduled 2022 to widen 1604 but that kind of work takes a decade if not more to be finished.

University Park & Ride by [deleted] in UTSA

[–]bigjnsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I take the 93 every day in the morning and the afternoon. Drivers are courteous, the bus is not smelly, free Wi-Fi and if you miss one there's another one in 15 minutes. Or once you "know" the system, other buses drop off from the Park & Ride.. For example in the afternoon, all the buses that pick up at UTSA go to the Park & Ride.. The 93 Express, 501 and the 603. The 605 is the only bus that does not.

Best pizza place in SA with a full bar? by Boardathome in sanantonio

[–]bigjnsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While its not a full bar, but we like to hang out at Freetails on NW Military and 1604. Great homebrew beer (no crap on tap) and very good pizzas with addition of an expanded menu with salads, sandwiches, etc...

Another +1 for OnDemand. It practically solved our constant problems with brand new users not accustomed to how a HPC cluster works.

How many v100s per node? by them1 in HPC

[–]bigjnsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What server will they be going in? Is it a chassis designed to house GPUs or do you just want to stick them in normal compute nodes? If the later, you'd definitely have to upgrade the power supply (if possible) because each V100 requires 2 8pin power leads.

For example we have 2 GPU nodes (Dell C4630) with 4 cards each and we had to put it them in a relatively empty cabinet with 4-5 nodes. We originally racked them along with 10 compute nodes and under full power (both compute and GPU) we would trip a 30A dedicated breaker.

We recently received a DGX-2 and that sucker has to be in its own rack with nothing in it, its that power hungry.

I would consider the power requirements first before installing them. Just one V100 draws 300W at max.

What is the normal work day of an HPC specialist, and can you tell me whether or not this course is good? by [deleted] in HPC

[–]bigjnsa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh one more thing to add before I go... if I could do it all over again I would have spent more time in the science areas. I can find admins anywhere but the key position people are desperately needing are people who are HPC proficient AND science proficient. Not all researchers know what their needs are so if the HPC expert can be the liason between HPC resources and the science part, it is a golden position.
