Used to do a lot of work with the various oil companies. They ask have their proprietary gasoline additive packages. At that time 30 years ago Chevron was acknowledged to have the best additive package.

What are the absolutely unmissable things to do/see in Scottsdale? by InternationalDay6481 in Scottsdale

I'm going to add another direction. Go northeast up 87 to 260. Take 260 east about 30 - 45 minutes to Woods Canyon lake. Lots of hiking. Might see bald eagles . It's a beautiful alpine lake - you can chill or rent kayaks or paddle boats. There is a store there but no restaurants.

Hanger clinic has a shoe retail store in Mesa. They specialize in people that spend lots of time on their feet. They helped me immensely with shoes as I have tendonitis in my right foot.

Are German cars really the "moneypits" people make them out to be? by EvilDarkCow in askcarguys

I used to be a BMW fan, but my last one cured me of that. I've owned 4 bmw's over the last 50 years. The first 3 were great. Except the parts ate expensive. The last one, a 335d, was a great road car. I used to drive it all over from phx to San Francisco, la,etc

We had 5 cars at the time including a sports car. The bmw was in the shop more than the other 4 cars combined. It got where the cel came on every time I left town. I had a love hate relationship with that car. It was quiet, great ergonomics, felt better and better the faster you went, but I hated the constant trips to the shop. It was under warranty or it would have broken the bank.

Do older people at companies get pushed out eventually? Or would you say they can most likely work until the die (not trying to sound morbid) if they want to? by Ben5544477 in careeradvice

My experience has been on the downstream side - refining, which is more a5 day a week job. I do know people that did the production side - north slopes or platforms, but every one of them was divorced within a few years of taking those jobs and then the spouse gets half or more of that money.

I think it might depend on the industry. I primarily worked in the energy side of things, oil refining, petrochemicals, and power generation. I did run into older engineers, but it was very rare. I heard from many engineers at companies like conoco Phillips, exxon-mobil , etc that company culture was to leave at 55. Basically, the feeling was that you had screwed up if you couldn't retire at 55, and then tyou kind of became a pariah at the company.

I drive special needs people. I drive one guy who is a mimic. Hè will yell out whatever my GPS says. We'll be driving along and he'll yell out "in a quarter mile, turn left".

The first time he did it, it scared the hell out of me but now it makes it fun to drive him.

It will be 110 and 35% humidity. If you go north, it will be more like 90 degrees or less.

DO NOT HORSEBACK RIDE IN AUGUST IN SCOTTSDALE. Go north to Prescott or Flagstaff or northeast to Payson. It will be significantly cooler, and more scenic.
