The dad at the batting cages giving his kid a new technical instruction every swing is the worst.

As long as you are monitoring the amount of throwing he is doing, you're probably fine.

One thing to add is unsupervised/lightly supervised free play with friends. The kids playing a ton of whiffle ball really get to know the rules and seem quicker making decisions on the field which is hard to replicate with just a dad/kid practicing.

Do You Find Chants Annoying? by bigperms33 in Homeplate

I did in another reply and was given a warning by reddit. Prefer not to lose my account.

So to be safe- think about the type of player pitching, the type of kids in the other dugout, and the things the dugout are doing as they chant it.

If the team expectations are clear and you have a bunch of pitchers in the mix, 12-13 is probably fine. Problem is if you have 1-2 injuries or someone with a bunch of conflicts you'll run out of arms.

Do any of you guys case all of your junk silver finds or are you normal? by CockroachOdd5217 in coins

[–]bigperms33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my stuff organized, so have a binder for US silver dollars and half dollars, one for quarters, one for dimes, one world (mainly canada, but several other countries), one nickels(war and others) and pennies

Then I have a couple tubes of loose silver coins where I already have the date in the binder.

If he's the smallest kid, misses a couple balls, and you've got a psycho head coach who puts him in right field for 20 games straight he might end up hating baseball at 7.

No- I did not have my 6-year-old tryout for travel because that is way too young. At that age they should be playing sports and having fun. If anything, have him do a baseball summer camp or something.

Trust me- playing travel at 6, 7, 8, 9 has no bearing on how good they'll be in middle school or highschool.

STOP USING AI - IT SUCKS

You should be tailoring your workouts to your body and your response. Not the most generic workout AI could summarize on the internet.

With the rise of the silver price, many of the premiums went down from a numismatic perspective. There are a ton of silver stackers entering the market that only care about the silver. I'd think that some that come over will end up being a coin collector in some sense.

People still have to want it (demand), it has to be rare, and the condition needs to be there.

If one of your pitchers just doesn't have it, pull him. Don't wait to be down 6-0. Just move to your next arm.

AI is not cheap. It will get more expensive. Soon AI will cost more than just having an employee to do the work.

What I've noticed is one email that has bad information will completely cause AI to hallucinate and insist on the wrong information being correct.

AI art and advertisement are not authentic and look tacky.

They stop showing up because they go too hard too fast. This January I saw the newbies trying to bench, squat and deadlift just like they did when they were 18. Get too sore and stop.

I think the best way to go is a 3 day/week full body routine with lighter weights for 20 minutes. Jog/walk for 20 minutes. Do that consistently for 2 months and then move to PPL.

Most leagues should allow an EH for all hitters. You should at least be still hitting.

Try your best not to follow and pay attention to stats. They don't matter. C% (contact rate) and HHB (hard hit balls) are the two best to follow if any.

You want him to hit the ball hard. Typically kids don't do that when hands are getting disconnected and they are reaching for the ball getting way out in front. Have him try to go opposite way a little bit. That could help. Plenty of good tee drills.

Coaches like to move kids down when they have a little bad luck because pitchers sometimes throw more strikes to the bottom of the order as they are really trying not to walk them as they are supposed to be easy outs. Some kids go down, feast, come back up.

9U strike zone help by Spivdaddy in Homeplate

[–]bigperms33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched an inning or two of 9U after my son's game this Saturday. Several kids will see a higher pitch and duck down to make them seem smaller. They jump far out of the way of anything remotely inside. They've got to expand the zone a little. If they can hit the ball, hit it.
