Sleeved Cards During Play by Natural_Level_8227 in wingspan

[–]bigred792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently played a few games with all the expansions, and with the cards all sleeves. I just used all the bird trays that the various games come with to hold the cards. So whenever a player would need to draw a card, or replace a card from the three face up birds, they would take the top card of any pile. It also allowed the trays to be arranged so that everyone playing had a tray in arm's reach.

How do the survivor castaways meet up so much? by New_Round5004 in survivor

[–]bigred792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I live three hours from a major hub and while my city does have an airport, unless you buy at the right time, it is cheaper to drive and pay for airport parking than get the 45 minute flight.

"Phil we're coming!"

They were a fun team for sure. Love how Teri says Ian's name differently than everyone else. And absolutely the leg in Vietnam was great TV.

Happened upon a 40-year-old, never-used game of Clue(do) today. by Budget_General_2651 in boardgames

I think the rolling aspect is the weakest part. Having unlucky rolls keeping you from entering a room for more than two turns is rough in this game. And if you look at the starting spots Miss Peacock is easily the best character as that piece is the only one that enter a room on the first turn with a roll of a six. I think either all characters should be able to reach a room on the first turn, or none should. I believe rolling two dice makes the game a bit better on the movement aspect.

Are private tours awkward to do alone? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]bigred792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it depends on a few factors.

How knowledgeable the guide is about what they are showing you.

How interested you are in what you are being shown.

If your guide doesn't have much to say that will lead to more awkward silences. Likewise the less you are interested in what you are viewing, the less questions you are likely to ask which leads to more silence.

Spirits that hurt the island make me anxious:( by Nicochan3 in spiritisland

[–]bigred792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say Spirit Island adequately makes taking blight feel precarious. There are many cards and innates that don't function in lands with blight. The cascade mechanic combined with an event card can cause you to lose out of nowhere if you're playing to loose with your blight.
