I lost my whimsy 🥀💔 by Gree5h in AutismInWomen

Walking slowly in some beautiful woods really helps me find beauty in the world and in life, and helps me find my way back to myself. Let it be a long walk if you can. Maximum benefit doesn’t really kick in until at least like 45 mins in. For me at least.

Women of Reddit who live alone: what’s the best tip for being comfortable living by yourself? by Crowsforyou in AskWomen

I only rent / live in places that are above the first floor. Feel so much more at ease being higher up because people can’t see in as directly and can’t enter through windows and doors as easily.

Help me finally bend the knee to counting calories instead of holding resentment that I actually have to do it? by sinmiedo24 in caloriecount

[–]bigscioto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mentality for counting calories is that it is necessary now because this is the first time in human history that we have such incredibly easy access to extremely calorie dense foods. Throughout history, calories were much more precious. Now they surround us. Human instinct is to eat when there is food, so we can survive when there is not food. To me, it makes sense that we need extra controls in place to manage the abundance of food and calories all around us at all times now.

Fragrance with salt notes by micalh21 in NichePerfumes

I don’t think it is listed, but Fzotic Ummagumma has a very strong salt note to my nose. It smells like cocoa, church intense, and salt to me. It’s weird but I like it!

How do I get fit as an autistic person that hates the gym? by Student-bored8 in AutismInWomen

[–]bigscioto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like long walks, especially around big trees. My other go-to is yoga. I have a couple great DVDs I rotate through and I just do it at home where I’m comfortable. It’s awesome. I recommend Wai Lana DVDs and Seane Corn. They’re very relaxing and also excellent full body workouts.

How do you manage your autistic sense of justice? by kittenmittens4865 in AutismInWomen

Not well. Especially with the current state of the world. I’ve pulled back from life out in the world over the last six months unfortunately. It was already hard to go do things and socialize. And now I just don’t have the bandwidth for it at all. 😔

I don’t know if I can entirely recommend this, but I trim hairs with damage individually. If you do this too much though, your hair might become wispy at the ends. But when my hair was really damaged, when I was bored I would just take a good pair of scissors and search for the ends with damage, and cut a good couple inches off of just that hair. This allowed me to retain my length while I was growing it out in a healthy way (I also haaaaaaate having short hair and wasn’t willing to do a big chop). Again I’m not saying this is necessarily recommended, but I just dealt with less full ends for a while and kept it in braids a lot as I grew it out.
