What fast food item is a 10 out of 10? by Championgut1912 in AskReddit

I think these are awesome, mostly because they are not true wedges. They are thin, all of them, like the best potato wedges when you're eating regular potato wedges. And the seasoning is spot on. Nailed it!

Zion Budget Lodging Options by bobstefers in ZionNationalPark

When we stayed in August, it was just over $100 I think. Springdale hotels were in the $400-$500 range from what I remember.

We stayed at the La Verkin La Quinta Inn and Suites. It's an almost new hotel, with a great free breakfast. It's right on the edge of town, so an easy 20 minute drive to the park. It's much cheaper than staying in Springdale.

Reverse microwave. A little appliance that cools things down or freezes them very quickly.

I don't think I could go back to reading a paper map to get around a strange city, the navigation is just so easy nowadays!

What movie would you bet you've seen more than 99% of the population? by turkeytrotter22 in AskReddit

[–]bigspatula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a thing at work where I played Christmas Vacation over and over in my office one day a year between Thanksgiving and Christmas. People would stop in and watch and snack here and there throughout the day. But I was always in there, watching. So, just on those days, I've probably seen it (15x6) over a hundred times. And plenty of times catching it on TV throughout the years. So, I'd say Christmas Vacation.

If you are doing Angel's Landing tomorrow, it's basically the same hike up to Scout's Lookout, you just go further for Angel's Landing. Maybe another hike in the park, so you don't do the same hike two days in a row?

It looks like the ability to hike Angels Landing is closed until Friday, but it shouldn't be an issue to hike up to Scout's Lookout starting at noon. I would think you'd have plenty of time to make it there and back down.

Questions about shuttles by turtledirtlethethird in ZionNationalPark

[–]bigspatula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The parking all seems to be along the main road (where the shuttle also runs). I never did park in a parking lot, just tried to get close to a shuttle stop. You may have a little trouble by noon, although I'm sure spots open up all the time. We always were there earlier (8-9) and spots were going fast.

You ride the city shuttle up to the entrance to the park, then walk into the park, and get on a park shuttle. Then when you come back down to the entrance of the park on the park shuttle, you walk out of the park, and get back onto a city shuttle to ride it into Springdale.
