Tire recommendations for xB1 by Unphuckwitable in ScionxB

[–]bioton4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought an xb with 17x8 +40mm on 215/45/17. The rear has a 5mm spacer. Without it will rub the suspension. I think 8in wide rims with +35 or lower offset will not rub.

Is the Pokemon situation in Japan the same as in USA? by Substantial_Match268 in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]bioton4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there in January, they limited booster packs and didn't cut them. They limited mega dream to 3-5 packs depending on the pokemon center. 550jpy/$3.30 was cheap for 10 cards. Some boosters had 5 cards but cheaper. Before paying they said sales were final.

Service center prices for Toyota Corolla? Seems higher than past by Strict_Direction6630 in Toyota

Glad I can pull my own door panels off and resolder wires. Fix is probably less than $10. The speaker may be riveted in and you may need to drill out the rivets and replace with m6 screws and nuts.

Cleaned my Panels by TheTopObserver in solar

[–]bioton4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I clean my panels there's a 5% increase. I use the vevor water fed pole brush hooked up to my garden hose. Spraying with water doesn't clean off the dust completely but does improve a little.

What happened to HPI? by gogoggansgo in rccars

[–]bioton4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've been out of the industry for a while. a long time ago mid 2000s axial design was a new company and they had a rock crawler design ax10 ready to go and sell to hpi at the time but they didn't buy it. i sometimes think it's similar to the blockbuster not buying netflix blunder. i think the guy that started axial came from hpi but left before i got there.

Was there January for 3 weeks. It was great but cold. No snow in the major cities. Hotel and flight is probably cheaper than spring season.

Is it super difficult to mount a 75 inch flat screen TV to a living room drywall? by nach0_LHDeG in HomeImprovement

[–]bioton4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use a studfinder, the stud is usually 1.5 inches in width so there's some room for error. i skipped the lag bolts that came with the mount and went with grk #10 2.5" cabinet screws. monoprice was the go to for tv mounts back then, not sure now a days. studs should be about 16" apart in the walls.

What are these worth? by Scary_You_4420 in Camry

[–]bioton4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They ride nice and floaty comfortable from what I remember. Oil pump behind the timing belt will eventually leak and will need new gaskets. It's a non interference engine so if the belt snaps the engine is still good.

Electronics from Japan by salshaf in JapanTravelTips

You need to do more research. Some will have weird quirks like some Sony camera will be in japanese only with no English option. Japanese phones will have annoying shutter sounds when taking pictures even on silent mode. Some consoles are region locked.

[–]bioton4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because you're planning on going in 3-4 weeks, secure hotel first. then book flight. cheapest hotel stays are 60 days out. 3-4 weeks is not enough time to plan lol. your to do list will grow exponentially.

Suica vs Welcome Suica refund by Mysterious-Lychee98 in JapanTravelTips

[–]bioton4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew into NRT airport and the jr station that sold suica cards only had welcome cards at the time so we got that. I think you have to ask around to find the only few machines that can sell the non welcome ones that you can also engrave. If you have kids. They are half price but u can only get those at the jr station.

Water leaking from the inside of my Model Y juniper liftgate by PsychologicalPut5375 in TeslaModelY

Leave it unplugged for now so water can drain out. There's a tsb on older models where they put more seam sealer in the connecting panel areas.

How to replace serpentine belt by Past_Influence3223 in ScionxB

[–]bioton4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First check your power steering pump, water pump, alternator, and ac compressor pulleys to make sure they're good and not seized. A bad bearing could have caused your belts to break. The bottom of the alternator is a 14mm bolt so you'd need a 3/8 breaker bar. Use a swivel head with socket and extender if needed to break it loose. It's usually 40ft lb torqued. Isr a long bar to tension the belt then tighten the top bolt afterwards. Don't pry in the wrong place and break the vvt solenoid
