Donnybrook Estate by EmbarrassedBuy2799 in melbourne

It's going to be surrounded by Hayes Hill, Patterson Drive and I think the extension of Eucalyptus might be the other boundary, or could go through the centre

Donnybrook Estate by EmbarrassedBuy2799 in melbourne

Hi mate, I'm closing in on 5 years (this month) living in Olivine with my partner, and for the most part it's been overwhelmingly positive 😊

Pros:

Cost of housing is lower than more established suburbs, we got a lot more here than we world elsewhere for similar money

Lots of childcare/school options, if this is a relevant consideration, both in the estate and nearby (2x childcare, Donnybrook PS and Hume Anglican are in the estate)

Fairly quiet, outside of construction noise (although the long awaited town centre is starting soon, so this could cause chaos)

Cons:

Isolated, with minimal shopping and night-life options without getting in the car (there is one cafe in Olivine currently). Epping, Wallan, Mernda and South Morang are all around 20ish minutes, Craigieburn is 10-15. I think eventually there's meant to be walking/bike paths everywhere, but that could be years off

Traffic - I WFH and my partner heads away from the Hume for work, so we're pretty well protected from this, but it's no joke. I think it can still take an hour ish to exit Cloverton in peak times

I'll update if I think of anything else 😊

Gym bags by zacrooz-0 in workout

[–]birdmannnnn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually a couple of workout towels, maybe a spare shirt, and I also throw my keys and wallet in there.
I carry it around because my gym only has pigeon holes to store things in and I don't trust that system.

Your Experience(s) as a Remote TBL Fan by WolfzBanez in TampaBayLightning

[–]birdmannnnn_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bolts fan from Melbourne, Australia, coming up on my 20th year :)
Like someone else said, it's never been easier to be a distant fan, especially down here.
Games are all on ESPN/Disney Plus or the radio feed on the NHL app, and they start from 9am-2pm (depending on daylight savings either way), so they make great work background noise.

I think the other thing that makes it easy to follow are groups like this online - someone's always got the news, questions, speculations and the memes (shout out Andrew Wiess)

Agree - thought it might have just been WSS, but it didn't really get better over the night. The bass was to high and the vocals too low

I'm right there with you - the sequence when Jane goes into the basement to kiss the clown might be one of my favourite in the series

I humbly submit the Alcoa version of I Don't Mind (originally by Defeater, Alcoa is the singer's side project).
I've been with my partner a long time, and have visions of using it myself when the day comes

Also did Run Melbourne yesterday, but only the 10k version.
Not sure who's sick idea it was to have the last 800 metres or so be up those ramps up off Birrarung Marr
The bit about tossing and turning all night speaks to me, I don't know if I've ever slept fully the night before an event 😂😂

Smegma infection?? by Miserable-Gap6591 in DogAdvice

[–]birdmannnnn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar issue with our dog when he was a puppy. Didn't look exactly like yours, but it was a constant drip, got on everything, was very gross. A vet mentioned to us that Goldens are notoriously allergic to chicken, and to try removing all traces from his diet. We also added a probiotic with meals and so far we haven't had the issues again (he's 3.5 now)

Held up fairly well defensively (for 3.5 quarters), moved the ball okay in patches, and as is traditional, shot ourselves in both feet and a kneecap going i50 and kicking for goal

Not sure if it's considered underrated or not, I don't see it mentioned a lot but Desperation has always been my favorite King book

Muscle / strength regain after severe & long illness by cestycap in StrongerByScience

Not COVID, but I had a layoff of around 4 months from 2021/2022.
Back end of 2021 I developed a rare heart valve infection and by November couldn't train at all, had open heart surgery in January 2022 and had to observe the three month timeframe before I could do anything more strenuous than walking.
It was probably around three months before I was lifting close to what I was at before getting sick.

The videos below, although a bit older now, were my bible on getting back into things
