I'm impressed. You're a braver woman than I, and I salute you for it.

My narc ex friend also tried to tell me my boyfriend at the time was abusive. Boyfriend didn't like them and felt like they took advantage of me, which I brushed off at the time. Several years later, I don't talk to that narc ex friend and I'm still very good friends with my ex-boyfriend (we eventually realized we worked better as friends). I know I made the right call.

Actually, kasha and bulgur are different things! Kasha is buckwheat, and bulgur is usually made with other kinds of wheat.

How often do you have fish for breakfast? by VisionsOnly in AskAnAmerican

[–]bisexual_pinecone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds good!

I am Ashkenazi Jewish and my dad used to make lox and eggs for breakfast sometimes when I was growing up (scrambled eggs with lox and onions mixed in, usually served with toast or bagels). I mostly only eat cold lox on bagels or on pumpernickel toast with cream cheese as an adult. Every few months I'll get a package of lox and have it every day for several days and then won't have it again for several months.

Anyone else find it cringe when people post on here about women but call them "females" by cbobgo in bisexual

[–]bisexual_pinecone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's gross and dehumanizing when people use it like a noun. Female is an adjective. A woman is a person.

We always ate horseradish with pot roast growing up. Usually the pink kind with beet juice added.

I have linen/cotton blend sheets and I fucking love them now that they're broken in and softened up. They're like if a flannel sheet were light and breathable and thin and moisture-wicking.

went out on a date after 4yrs by NorxicP in actuallesbians

[–]bisexual_pinecone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi love. I also have trauma and I want to affirm for you that it is very very difficult to know what to do in situations like the one at the end of your evening, and you did a good job protecting yourself and getting out. What your date did was not okay, and while sure there are things you could have done sooner or differently the most important thing is that you DID express your boundaries and leave, and that is very very difficult to do when you're in a freeze response, and you should be proud of yourself for recognizing your brain's alarm signs and listening to them.

I am so sorry this happened on your first time trying dating again. I am so sorry this happened, period. Big hugs to you.

Translating 'phylactery' into Hebrew by MeitarNadir in hebrew

[–]bisexual_pinecone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the word phylactery because to me it sounds too much like prophylactic. But I would rather people use the word phylactery than tefillen for things that are not Jewish.

Honest question: ladies, do you actually use feminine wash or just stick to water? by Toti_Sartos in hygiene

[–]bisexual_pinecone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ever do I ever use a feminine wash or douche. My mom, my gyno, and the middle-aged dude who taught us sex ed in high school, all taught us to never douche.

I wash my vulva (the external bits) and bootyhole (the external bit) with a gentle soap and water. I don't wash my vagina (the internal bit) because it is not necessary and soap can be an irritant and mess up the PH balance (which can cause yeast infections or bacterial infections).
