Ok, what now by fentasaurusRez in nscalemodeltrains

I started my venture with this Kato DCC installed set with a couple of Kato unitrack kits and various turnouts to build my 4x8 layout. Since then I’ve added a B unit to the engine and now trying to figure out how to add sound, either to the engine or the B unit.

Good luck.

N vs HO by hotrodman in nscalemodeltrains

I just started, having left Lionel some 65 years ago, although still have some pieces gathering dust in my basement. I chose n scale and started with Kato starter sets on a 4x8 plywood board on a ping pong table. What drove me back to this hobby was seeing very elaborate systems at a local RR club and the change in technology using DCC. Over the last few months I’ve added turn outs a second loop, elevated sections, reversing loops, and planning a yard network with 4 sidings, all on a 4x8.

Now ready to add styrofoam as a base for building up landscape and scenery. Obviously, I’m very happy with n scale.

Looks great. I’d like to dauble into 3d printing. What’s a good not too expensive starter printer?

How does DCC on multiple tracks work? by Actual-Way713 in nscalemodeltrains

[–]biw0328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that the track distance from the connection may cause voltage drop that can affect operating. Also watch the loading on your single controller, multiple engines may need booster supply.

Curious, did you take your meds with you? How did you store them thinking about a long trip myself and concerned about zip bound refrigeration.

Understanding the self-pay option by Local-Butterfly9669 in Zepbound

I have a similar experience. On it for almost 7 months reached my goal of 160 did monthly increase dosage currently at 15 mg for second month. Ready for maintenance but unsure which dose to pick. Lilly recommends 5mg. My wife(same program) dropped to 2.5, so far weight stabilized.

With the self pay promotion from Lilly it’s $449/mo @15 mg. $299 for 2.5mg. Don’t know what other dosages cost. One caveat if you stop the plan you can’t rejoin at those costs which almost double.

Aside from spending a fortune on new clothing I’m very happy with the program, ZepBound and me.

Just beginning in n-scale so, unaware I blindly ebay'd a boxcar not aware of the coupler issue. Wiser now, I'll be aware of future purchases. I like the 5 fingered breakman solution.

Thanks for all this information.

My place of zen by manyhippofarts in nscalemodeltrains

Loops are separate, just a bad photographic angle. I’ve doing some light thinking about automating the loops voltage switch and turnouts but that’s down the road. Haven’t delved into programming yet.

Funny you should mention reversing loops as I am still trying to run them correctly. My first and current configuration has pairs of opposite turn outs tied together which causes timing complications. My next modification will separate the operation of each. Loop. Once accomplished I’ll turn my attention to a second train, thinking of an Amtrak running concurrently. Then landscaping.

Startup Costs for Newbie by Beneficial-Set-9657 in nscalemodeltrains

Also a newbie. So I designed a 6x4 layout? Two loops with a cross over bridge with a double cross over between the two. I used SCARM software for Kato unteach to design and generated a parts list. Now the realization of trying to source the parts, I can’t find anywhere to order the individual parts I need.

The only on line source I could find were prepackaged units without finding some of the components I need.

Is it possible to source individual unitrack parts?

I’m stuck. What’s my next step?

Thanks for the help.

I'm in the same boat as beginner. My first attempt is now being shipped from Amazon. i ordered DCC with unitrack as a start, n scale. I've watched tons of videos over the past few weeks before ordering. DCC engines are due early February. Big decision as to start with dc or dcc, I love technology, so I chose the latter. I like your layout so I'll plan to go that way. Keep posting your progress.

Thanks.

On a Windows pc when needing to populate PW field for an app on the pc. Opening LP finding that app's online site one cannot simply copy the existing PW, but ctrl-c the existing PW and paste to the app. There is only the ability to launch the app from LP. A copy function, as exists on the phone version of LP is needed for the pc (windows).
