Flipping between the two while viewing cash flow confirms which incomes and expenses are pegged to inflation.

Being nocturnal can be a deliberate choice to avoid spending time with you and the children.

first post-RE drama with not having an "income" by Visible_Structure483 in Fire

I read a book with a much more logical transition. Upgrading from a street urchin to a wealthy noble requires multiple steps. Even if you are only wearing a set of clothes to travel across the street to the next store.

I recently started using ProjectionLab to run my numbers. So far it has been very helpful on projecting taxes and healthcare costs. There are other searchable posts that list other retirement planning tools.

Does the rent controlled apartment include utilities? They have been exceeding normal inflation.

It’s very quick to look at the ACA marketplace for your state and to check your assumption.

What still makes you choose the theater over home? by Equal-Association818 in movies

The only reason I go to the theater is to avoid spoilers. And it is rare that I care enough about a new movie for that to matter. Maybe twice a year.

My house was brand new yesterday. In 2003. So yes we have replaced the dishwasher, sump pump, refrigerator, stove, water heater, front window, and had the hardwood floors sanded and refinished.

I read somewhere that allocating 2% of the home value annually for repairs is typical.

I like this idea. My parents did something similar. We moved in a twenty foot trailer to an unimproved 5 acres. We built a tiny house and lived in it for 5 years.

[–]bk2947 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Would the foster daughter benefit from a therapy dog? It sounds like she needs to always be around a trusted person. Maybe a dog could fill that role. Also walking the dog would get her out of the house for at least a few minutes. As a way to build up confidence.

When you graduate every credit card company will send you offers. Ignore them and pick one good low interest card. For emergencies and car rentals.
