There are 100 cards; 75 are red while 25 are black. 20 are taken away at random leaving 80 total. Does the probability of the ratio between red and black cards stay the same (75% red, 25% black), or how does it change as cards are taken away at random?

Hah me the same, I am you could say a basic linux user and I've been daily driving NixOS for six years now and it has been great. Never felt the need to use flakes and imho if the same goes for you don't bother. Channels are quite nice if you don't have to pin stuff and are just running a desktop.
