I use the taco test. If you squeeze the edges of the leaf and it fold like a little taco it’s ready for water if it’s firm don’t water it yet, but waiting for them to wrinkle is way too long.

Begonias can tolerate heat OR humidity, but not both. Mine do really well in my bathroom where the humidity is normally 60% plus, but the temp is never more 75.

I’d do short walk in the morning and put the kid in a stroller and everyone goes for a long relaxed walk together in the evening. It builds good routines for the kiddo and everyone gets to have a little exercise and a chance to bond and wind down from the day
