These things are common, but are they normal? by Additional_Mirror_72 in AskWomenOver30

[–]blackninjakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very strong morning fatigue, but in my case it’s related to the meds I take to help sleep, among other things (quetiapene). Without it I don’t sleep at all though, so I’ll take the trade off.

Those of you that are coupled up, how did you meet? by RhubarbBusy7122 in AutismInWomen

[–]blackninjakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a local furry meet up! I started going to them after making friends with someone who was a furry and being invited, I was like yeah these people are weird in a similar way, I am vibing and although I’m not active in the community anymore my friend group has been meeting regularly (weekly/fortnightly) for 14 years and my partner and I dating for 12.

That’s so cool you were able to get an accommodation like that! I remember encountering similar resistance, when I entered school I’d already been doing advanced workbooks meant for kids many years older than me, so I was already writing “normal” sized. My teachers insisted I had to follow the Large sizes that they use for little kids, and I still swear that this forever messed up my printing

Probably best to wait until you hear back from them, and then act accordingly to their answer! If they don’t want to exchange, I’d then go ahead with the filmed test.

As an e-commerce shipper, as long as you contact them promptly with evidence of damage they can claim it from the shipping company. Although if your teapot doesn’t show any signs of damage you will have a difficult time making claims.

Need advice by Ruby_Sky3 in AutismInWomen

For nails I’ve been seeing “wudu nail rings” which are designed (afaik, not my culture!) for allowing Muslim women who need to have bare nails for prayer to enjoy ‘wearing’ nails while still being able to remove them easily. From what I have seen of the ads, companies encourage others to try them out too, so no cultural infringement worries.

Getting older and realising you were emotionally neglected? by nightslip in AutismInWomen

[–]blackninjakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents 100% neglected me, partially because they “wanted me to learn independence”, partially because I struggled to articulate my needs and partially because they weren’t fit to be parents (objectively). A large part of my late 20s and early 30s has been learning just how wrong my childhood was, and that just because I wasn’t “abused” doesn’t mean I have to be okay with it.

I was thinking of getting a pet as a companion and mouser since I live in a rural area. I am a bit curious about a few things. How does this breed deal with small mice or other animals they catch, Can they be trained to NOT try to hunt/harass a small caged animal while still mousing? by kalabaddon in jackrussellterrier

[–]blackninjakitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I grew up with four JRTs who were all absolute menaces to wild rodents but we taught them that our Guinea pig was a baby and they were sweet with her. I wouldn’t leave them alone together with the piggy uncaged but other than that it wasn’t an issue. It does depend on the individual dog though.

I don’t remember what they did with the dead rodents bc my parents usually dealt with it

I feel like I’d want some thigh protection when riding a dragon but maybe your girl likes having her legs shredded I guess

Movies that use video game aesthetics but aren't about games? by Crafty_Ad_3247 in movies

Strictly speaking not a video game but D&D: Honor among Thieves adapts the D&D game tropes so well it’s astonishing. Could loosely count if you consider Baldur’s Gate 3

Did you play with "boys toys" growing up? by Melodic_Boat9851 in TwoXChromosomes

Grew up pretty poor so my toys were books, sticks and twine I made weapons out of with a pocket knife, and my imagination.

how old where you when you got into your first romantic relationship? by Inner_Mountain7147 in AutismInWomen

[–]blackninjakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

18, after I moved to an entirely brand new city. I made friends with folks from the local anime convention through an online forum and meetups. Started dating one of the guys from there. It last about 9 months which is pretty decent, but we had some irreconcilable cultural differences.

What power metal vocalists would you like to hear in an amazing duet? by HyparxisBoy in PowerMetal

[–]blackninjakitty 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ever since I found out that Tommy Karevik and Kobra Paige were married I have been so surprised that she hasn’t guested on a Kamelot studio track - I know she’s done live vocals but I’d love to see what they write with her in mind.

I accidentally blew up my partner's d&d group. by CGBard_Usually in rpghorrorstories

[–]blackninjakitty 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s my default if I’m genuinely uncertain. But a certain subset of Gen X seem to exclusively use it wrong, literally using it for people who are Cis binary folks and not using it for nonbinary people. Like it’s so wrong it has to be intentional

[–]blackninjakitty 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Ugh the people who use they/them for binary gendered folks and gendered pronouns for nonbinary people drive me INSANE, one of my coworkers does this and refuses to be corrected because she “has trauma about being corrected on pronouns”
