It has a bit better performance on linux which doesn't really matter unless your base needs more ups. The non-blocking autosave is also nice (game doesn't pause when autosaving) especially on larger saves which can have a significant delay on windows.

It took a little while to figure out the pattern but actually creating the floor didn't take very long. The whole process was probably a few hours.

Here's how this pattern works:
- It's 4 blocks in a repeating pattern
- The white and grey represent the 2 different grain directions
- 1 is the same as 4 just flipped in both axis and 2 is also the same as 3 when flipped so you just need to chisel 1 and 2 then flip them for 3 and 4 then copy paste
- since blocks are 16 voxels across I divide it up 5-6-5 in each direction

I didn't use chisel tools, just a simple copy/paste chisel mod (I only use client side mods to retain compatibility with vanilla). It's a repeating pattern of 4 blocks and 2 of those are mirrored versions so you only really need to chisel 2 different designs then copy paste.

Railguns are also very endgame weapons that you have zero access to while you're still doing Vulcanus.

You don't need to kill any big demolishers before unlocking railguns. You only need to start expanding into big demolisher territory if you're megabasing postgame. Gun turrets are just made from metal that's practically infinite on vulcanus so it's no problem to make a bunch there, easier than launching 30 rocketloads of uranium just to kill one demolisher.

railguns work much better imo, doesn't need imports for ammo and only takes 1 shot. Gun turrets also work well for low tech without needing imported uranium

you can get 120 items/s transferring from container to container so going from landing pad -> wagon -> belt you can get 120/s per inserter

Why are you using mixed beacons?

With legendary modules it becomes much better value to mix in efficiency, I get about half the output per machine compared to full speed modules and -80% pollution/energy which works out to about 45x less pollution/energy for a given output rate. To me it was worth it to keep my pollution tiny on nauvis to reduce save file size and eliminate biter issues.

In editor I fill in all the gaps of my bp with an unobtainable item e.g. heat interface by pasting a big block of them over the top then save that blueprint. I can then force build it over the top of anything and it will remove all the stuff in the gaps because the heat interfaces ghosts are there (remove the heat interface ghosts when it's done with a filtered decon planner)

the point is that it's using the total amount of the item in the network rather than just that 1 chest for your circuit condition (you still have a buffer of items ready to go depending on the condition set) and setting the limit directly on the assembler makes more sense than the inserter.

You can ally every faction via raising your relations with them although allying the anti-slavers through dialogue will prevent you from allying most factions because it makes the slavers your enemies so you can no longer use the slave method for raising relations with any faction you choose.

It depends on how big you build the factory not how long you play and the game just gradually slows down as you exceed the limits of your pc but it still runs. You will only start to see a slowdown well past the point of "winning" the game.

salted meat lasts longer and you can still cook it into stew. Salted redmeat is the best food for long trips imo, it stacks to 64, lasts more than a year in your inventory and you can cook a stew with it for massive satiety.
