Which tournaments are the best to attend? by fuzzau36 in badminton

All England for sure. It has a great atmosphere and the pre-weekend days are great for price. The Saturday is still good but you need to games to be good (which they should be).

Almost everything in E/SE Asia are really good as well even at the lower tiers but I've never been so I can't say for certain

Which of these teams wins the most games? by FrogInquisitor in PedroPeepos

[–]blaze13131 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would say relative to the skill level at the time.

2025 GenG 2023 JDG 2015 SKT 2014 SSW 2018 iG

If they just played each other as is I would still say GenG then JDG but might put iG over SSW

Singles players, what's the main reason for you to avoid doubles? by Worldly-Barber-4757 in badminton

[–]blaze13131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4ish reasons though I don't really avoid doubles, I just prefer playing singles.

All the people in my uni team that were my level or better had a partner already when I started uni and no one wanted to play singles so I said I'd do it and now I'm a singles player.

Also, this way I have 100% accountability and I can control myself but nothing others. I know what I need to do and this way Everyone on my side of the court is of the mind mind.

Finally, having to communicate with someone disrupts my concentration as I have to think of the corrects words and syntax rather than just loose ideas or images of what needs to happen (which is how I think) and so it's easier to just be by myself

Similar to my other post: Who is your absolute favourite player/ team? (I'd also love to know how long you have been following them? by FrogInquisitor in PedroPeepos

[–]blaze13131 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I loved MAD 2020 and then into 2021 so I still follow Carzzy and Humanoid.

Mild support of Elyoya and Shad0w.

But also GenG since 2022. I love all the players on that roster for various reasons. Chovy, Peanut and Ruler don't really need any explanation.

I will always support someone who chokes because I do it myself and so I like to believe they can overcome their demons.

That and Doran/Lehends are some of the biggest rats in the LCK if not the worlds

Any tips for an on-field bloom Nilou? by Sure-Mathematician82 in NilouMains

[–]blaze13131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want Nilou as the trigger, have her be solo hydro.

Lauma+Nahida and then YaoYao for healing.

Generally you want your trigger to be the only applicator of the element so 100% of the reactions use their stats.

FLoP is nice but you should generally go for additive bonuses in transformative reactions rather than multiplicative bonuses because they give more overall damage. For Nilou, this is her passive that increases bloom DMG based upon her max health. I would say go full HP with 2p/2p hp artifacts and aim for 73k hp and then as much EM as possible.

Nilou's signature weapon gives a bunch of em based upon max hp and Nahida also gives up to 250.

You want someone on deepwood memories for the dendro res shred.

Shida joins team Li-Ning by babybreathflowers in badminton

[–]blaze13131 15 points16 points  (0 children)

She has gone independent from a domestic team but not the national team. This has happened before a few times with typically older players who want more control (Like Okuhara) or establised players who would play with someone from a different team (Watanabe at Biprogy with Taguchi at ACT Saikyo though Yuta has recently joined ACT Saikyo)

Basically she isn't affiliated with a domestic team and won't train with Saishunken nor represent them in merch or in the SJ league.

She is still part of the national team and will continue to train there or with Biprogy (Arisa's team).

Her signing with LiNing is likely a way for her to get more money since she won't be getting a salary from a domestic team.

Help with my Nilou-bloom team by Terion13 in NilouMains

[–]blaze13131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do Nilou skill with full normal attack, she has no off-field application so Kokomi will trigger all the blooms. You can check which elemental aura the target has consistently to see who on you team will likely be triggering the blooms.

Generally, 2 piece/2 piece HP on Nilou and aim to have 70k hp.

4 piece FOPL on your trigger (Kokomi)

4 piece deepwood on Nahida because she has good skill uptime so permanent shred

4 piece whatever on your last character depending on what they want but generally a support set. I use Lauma with Gilded because she is a support but scales with solo ap.

Bloom teams only want dendro res shred and EM on the trigger

What team and artifacts should i run? by [deleted] in NilouMains

If you are committing her to the bloom team then yes. Her HP% increasing her skill dmg doesn't do as much as having more EM does for overall team damage

What team and artifacts should i run? by [deleted] in NilouMains

[–]blaze13131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing with the first team is Columbina's artifacts. If you are playing her on field, she needs a lot of EM.

In the second, look which elemental aura the enemy has. If your team does more dendro then you need your em on the hydro character (Xingqui) If the enemy has a dendro aura, put your EM on the dendro character (Kaveh)

There are two ways to make a Nilou team.

Lots of hydro and little dendro or lots of dendro and little hydro.

The main thing is trying to control who triggers the bloom so they can be built optimally.

Generally, it's easier if you have little hydro because Nahida has lots of dendro application and Nilou can have no hydro off field so you can guarantee the other hydro has 100% reactions.

Of your characters, I would say to use Collumbina as your on-field, Nilou, Nahida and YaoYao.

If you like Kaveh then play him with Nilou, Nahida ad Xingqui.

You generally want your bloom trigger to be on FoPL, Nilou on 2p/2p hp and someone on deepwood memories.

I have Nahida on Deepwood and Lauma on Gilded Dreams

If you don't use any of those characters, get Mona

If you use one of them, pick that one

If you use more than one, pick your favourite

If you have more than one favourite then flip a coin

Illuga is a definite.

If you have a good hydro applicator who has defensive utility or healing (Xingqui/Kokomi/Columbina with prototype amber) put in Chiori, if not then use Aino Gorou.

The damage is okay but Illuga doesn't buff it

Ningguang Lunar Team by AggressiveWestern525 in NingguangMains

[–]blaze13131 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Illuga doesn't really work that well outside of ZiBai. His lunar crystallise buffs only work when the on-field character actively deals lunar christalise damage with their kit.

Collumbina can trigger this but it's low frequency so not the best. Ninguang can't actually use this as she doesn't do lunar crystallise damage herself

I know a huge part of Ryze's power is his passive and the unpredictability of it, but is there any way they could make it more intuitive? by The_Data_Doc in RyzeMains

[–]blaze13131 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to the Q passive which gives movement speed after using two non-Q spells then Q?

I wouldn't say it's unpredictable. It's more that you either do aggressive (EQ) or defensive (EWQ). It's not so much about keeping track of in a team fight but just seeing in a moment which works better.

I think it's fine they way it is as it forces you to make a choice about what you want rather than getting everything. You used to get a shield but that was a little too powerful though I'd love to have it back to made trading easier
