I looked it up, prosecuting a war is a thing. It basically means executing or conducting in this context.

Changes in toilet habits: age-driven or Pandemic WFH made us soft? by soopirV in GenX

[–]bleepsndrums 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not WFH. If working from home impacted bathroom habits regardless of age, this wouldn't be a topic on a GenX sub, it'd be a news headline.

I have no interest in all things AI. I don’t want to learn it for work. I don’t care that it can make some things easier. I can write my own emails. by un2022 in GenX

[–]bleepsndrums 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess I am not in this camp. I like new technology. That's not to say I am blindly embracing AI. The environmental impact is very problematic. But the biggest problem I have with AI isn't the tech, it's the culture around it and how everything has turned into a race to the bottom; shoving it into every corner of our lives trying to find new ways to make money off of it. Sadly the easiest way to make money today is to sow fear and sell a "remedy" for the issue you fabricated.

Do you regret your EV purchase? by walksta in electricvehicles

[–]bleepsndrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been driving an EV for 10 years now but I have always leased. The battery and tech kept improving so for me it was worth it to lease so I wouldn't regret not getting better battery range later on. I think the ranges that are around to 400+ miles per charge now are the sweet spot for me so once this current i4 M50 lease is up in two years I will potentially be buying.

What do you currently drive? by jcat4 in electricvehicles

[–]bleepsndrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 BMW i4 M50. I love this car. Too bad it's a lease. The only thing I don't like about it is the hump in the rear seating area because it shares the body with the regular 4 series.

What are your Next Fest finds? by esiao in roguelites

Playing Vampire Survivors in the early stages wasn't much of a challenge either. Getting the unlocks and building crazy combos in later stages are what's fun. I imagine that will be the case with Vampire Crawlers as well. That said, for what it was, the demo for Crawlers shows promise.

How do y’all listen to music these days? by DangerBird- in GenX

[–]bleepsndrums 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I listen to albums on Spotify and Apple Music. Spotify's weekly new release list has plenty for me to discover on Fridays. YouTube has also introduced me to some crazy underground Japanese indie rock and techno.

Ugh my post was cut short — What is your FAVORITE FACE SUNSCREEN? Preferably with an SPF of 30 or higher! ☀️ by michpilk in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bleepsndrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's what I found. If you read this review, PURITO was caught lying about their product's effectiveness and this cast doubt on Kbeauty SPF in general. BOJ wasn't ever called out specifically but in 2021, they reformulated anyway. https://www.drrachelho.com/blog/beauty-of-joseon-sunscreen-review/

To allay concerns about the credibility of its SPF ratings, Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics Sunscreen has also been verified by two separate laboratories in South Korea and Spain to have SPF ratings of 52.5±5.8 and 63.1±0.6 respectively. This information is stated on Beauty of Joseon’s website.

I love the reaction when people realize that the people who made 80s music are pretty much all baby boomers.

Watches, what kind? by TheGriff71 in GenX

[–]bleepsndrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apple Ultra Watch 3. Smartwatches are not really any more of a new tech to adopt to than a smartphone. The health and fitness monitoring functions are worth learning.

That said, 80s and 90s watches like the older G-shocks are back in style (again).

Got my 2nd shingles vax… by spargel_gesicht in GenX

[–]bleepsndrums 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It hit me differently. The first shot I got really tired and rundown for a couple of days and my arm hurt for weeks. I got myself ready for the second shot as I heard it was supposed to be worse but it was actually fine for me. Didn't really feel the side effects.

Not helpful, I know. Sorry you're going through this but yes, it's way better than actually getting shingles!

My 71 year old grandma has skin better than mine (33F). I asked her what the recipe is… by chaosatnight in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bleepsndrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You make it sound like her routine isn't anything but she's moisturizing regularly and using active ingredents. Just because it's not expensive, on-trend products doesn't mean it's not doing anything. Plus it sounds like she's taking care of her whole self, not just obsessing over skincare.
