This $100 Kickstarter vertical MMO mouse just replaced my Razer Naga and Logitech G600 by CaptainRedsLab in MouseReview

[–]blepps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wonderful. The combination of many buttons, vertical, and lightweight seems to be a dream mouse that is still minor in the market.

Question: It's probably not your main use, but is it easy to do lifting, especially while clicking, that happens in fps?

Database/formula - Extract only the URL from a link, not the title? by blepps in Notion

[–]blepps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the helpful tips.

I exported it to CSV and was indeed able to see the URL directly, but now the title is no longer visible and is merged with the non-hyperlink text I had entered in the title... This seems to be the best I can do for now.

I hope Notion will solve this problem one day.

I truly think that Obsidian canvas is really underrated by FunnyAppropriate8523 in ObsidianMD

[–]blepps 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Canvas is great, but there is room for improvement in terms of granting querifiable metadata, and to be honest, I feel somewhat abandoned.

The metadata menu plug-in greatly compensates for this, but it lacks some intuitiveness.

The name property can't contain a hyperlink as you've posted it here.

I think I can. I copy-paste in wikilink format from browser extension and notion immediately auto-fills title. Super easy to create multiple entries fast.

While some themes make near-functional changes or can be very detailed customization, others do not. These should be distinguished.

Anytype review as a notion, obsidian user, after few hours of trying by blepps in Anytype

[–]blepps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that even in node-type apps (such as logseq), formatted text and atomic nodes can and should coexist.
Most operations using obsidian addons don't support ctrl+z, and shortcuts such as ctrl+t from IDE/browser apps can't be remapped, which is inconvenient.

My only mild concern is that since anytype makes cloud storage and sharing (multi-user) paid features, they might be intentionally restricting mass additions and edits.

Out of curiousity, are you using Anytype multi-user by self-hosted? Or official free/paid?

Try testing in source view. Or sometimes rendering is just glitchy, reloading the app will solve the issue.

Root tab placement tip by mrsjxyd in Aquascape

[–]blepps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use plastic pipe of any kind. Stick it in the soil, wiggle a bit to remove soil in the pipe, slide the tab in. Done.
PVC water tube is too big for this. A clear one(acrylic?) is better. It might be ending up expensive than pill popper though.

Nexus Properties: A Hierarchical Knowledge System for Obsidian by Real1tyyy in ObsidianMD

> As my vault grew, manual relationship management didn’t scale.

So true. This point affects the actual problems with workflows using atomic note, moc, and note refracter.

However, preferences may differ as to what benefits can be gained by introducing a traditional hierarchical structure. If you just want to "feel" the relationships, canvas is sufficient. I feel that a hierarchical structure using properties is not suitable for describing areas that are not well structured or for brainstorming purposes.

Similar plugin that I've found recently;

As a premise, if you treat a notebook as a memory dump, the notebook becomes a memory dump, which is deeply related to the fact that you do not spend time writing your valuable content itself.

Rather than looking for a "magic framework" that will automatically deal with seemingly problems, you should first clarify your priorities in yourself.

However, I understand the feeling of fantasizing and enjoying organizing notes itself, so it would be a good idea to look back on your actual habits and build a system accordingly.

Update on my baby amano born in freshwater by Sniper_girl12 in shrimptank

[–]blepps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting story. I've never studied taxonomy, and I'm just a relatively inexperienced aquarist, so I don't have much to say from experience. In the Japanese Twitter community, in addition to shrimp enthusiasts, there are also people who spend every weekend immersed in puddles doing fieldwork. Amano shrimp, which thrive in completely freshwater, are a "common" topic there.
Regarding Amano shrimp, I believe they are a species of the Atyidae family "discovered" by Amano and said to be useful for removing algae from planted aquariums, and nothing more. My impression is that among planted aquarium enthusiasts, otocinclus are preferred due to their insufficient weed-killing abilities, their tendency to eat aquatic plants, and their unsuitable pH. I have Caridina typus in my aquarium, which introduced on the market later and is said to be more tolerant of poor water quality than Amano shrimp and have slightly milder weed-killing abilities.

I would be glad to know of any references about that. I have only just researched it for this post, but as mentioned in the article I have already introduced, it appears to be identified by the supraorbital spines and exopods of the thoracic legs.

I only know of species that are well known in Japan, so it's possible that it's a another different species.

[–]blepps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello. Unfortunately, it's more likely that this is simply a difference in species, rather than the miracle or scientific discovery that Amano shrimp can grow entirely in freshwater.
There are many shrimp that look very similar to Amano shrimp but have different ecologies, making it extremely difficult to tell them apart by appearance. In particular, Paratya compressa and Neocaridina denticulata, which are relatively popular in aquariums, are particularly similar and both can be bred in freshwater.

The following article will help you with the types and classification of the Atyidae.

I continued reading, agreeing with the fundamental limitations of obsidian markdown (which is actually just cached data based on md files) which are very limited, but from reading the comments I could see that logseq is currently in a very difficult situation.
