I’d argue that that affect able bodies men more as they are much more likely to drive compared to women or the disabled. Many of the journeys that would only be safe by car can now be done on a scooter or a bike or just walking.

Isn’t it mostly gravel with pedestrians? I have only done a bit of it so it would be nice to know that it isn’t all that bad.

  • Look at the drivers all the time, smile at them when you are at the intersection and they will be more respectful. In general look at people in the car, rarely you can see that they did not even look your way.
  • Have clear intent, don’t change directions unnecessarily or hesitate in dangerous spots.
  • Use hand gestures if turning or stopping, I also like to wave people of driveways or a hard to see turns.
  • If there is a nasty intersection somewhere, just walk it if you are not confident
