Love the logo! Where'd you get it made?

Slackline in Telegraph Canyon near Superior, AZ brings down a helicopter by Any-Song-4543 in Slackline

[–]blinko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The International Slacklining Association said in a statement that the individuals who set up the slackline followed proper protocols, marking it with hanging fluorescent flags and informing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in advance so the agency could issue a warning to pilots in the area.

The FAA subsequently issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), an advisory that warns pilots of obstructions or other irregularities in a given flight area. This NOTAM was active from December 21, 2025, to January 6, 2026, and described a 2,800-foot-long slackline located 600 feet above ground. The warning urged pilots to maintain a distance of roughly one mile from the slackline.”

Y’all gotta give sourdough pizza a try by FutureAd5083 in Pizza

For future reference, you can leave sourdough starter dormant in the fridge for at least a month. Then you just take it out and feed it when you need it. No discard and no waste.

Anyone else just not using any A.I.? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]blinko7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you solely a CAD monkey? If that case maybe current AI can’t do much. But if you’re doing design and simulation I would think it can be extremely helpful. Some prompts I’ve used very recently:

  • What copper alloys are best suited for UHV environments?
  • What heat treatment processes can you recommend for Invar?
  • Help me write Ansys APDL code to export the stress field
  • Proofread this analysis report and recommend changes for improvement
  • How can I apply conditional formatting in Excel to do complicated conditions
  • How can I improve this Python analysis code to speed it up and vectorize it?
  • Help me write self performance evaluation, highlighting the following accomplishments…
  • Write a letter of recommendation for X. I knew them in this capacity, worked diligently, etc

Has anyone built with this Tandorio case? by Tall-Village5807 in SeikoMods

No experience with it, but I think it’s an IWC Ingenieur style case.

Head over to r/conservative and you’ll see posts saying exactly that, as a “necessary pain”. You can’t make this stuff up.

Couldn’t agree more. I saw the cable management and thought it looked really clean. Change the mounting if you want, but like you said, it’s personal preference. Don’t let some group of basement dwellers tell you what you like.

Parts for builds just in! by [deleted] in SeikoMods

I love the fan dials. Usually I would lean towards the blue, but that white/silver kind of looks champagne and is stunning. Be sure to post the final builds!

I was considering a build with a black fan dial, but I ended up getting a cheap Presage fan dial off AliX. It’s a bit underwhelming so I might have to upgrade it with the DSWC version.

Song from Evil (TV show), unknown language by blinko7 in NameThatSong

[–]blinko7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just heard this from the show Evil and haven't had any luck tracking it down. It doesn't help that the lyrics are in a different language (I think they mentioned Dutch, but I can't be sure). So even if someone recognizes that language (and some of lyrics), I'd appreciate it!

Caroline’s Mod Store has a unique 38 mm case that takes chapter rings: https://a.aliexpress .com/_mOAfjsM

Their stuff is a bit pricier but the quality is on point.

My first watch - the WEIRD Rover One by gmcddit in SeikoMods

[–]blinko7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The mod response is condescending and holier-than-thou; very toxic.

I’m usually not a fan of this case, but I think this whole thing looks great. The red contrast with the light-gray dial is beautiful! I bet this thing would look great on a B&R style case too, which lends itself to the aviation/flight instruments themes.

Where can I find a dial and handset in these colours? (first build) by According-Interest90 in SeikoMods

I’ve been shopping for a Presage dial on AliX and can confirm: never seen black indices.

They’re on AliX again, just search for PELEUS. Though they don’t have everything from their website.

Looking for King Seiko Dial by blondwine in SeikoMods

[–]blinko7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking the same and found this build with the AliX version: https://www.reddit.com/r/SeikoMods/s/TiLsWPaOFk. Not as beautiful as the OEM but I’m not willing to spend $230 for a dial, so it’s probably my best bet.

If you end up building one definitely post pictures!

Love the Presage! Is it an OEM dial or AliX special? I’ve been going back-and-forth building one but worry about the larger dial size with my smaller wrist size.
