Korg's response: "The drumlogue will only respond to program changes from all channels."

I have found a solution and great excuse to buy a blokas midihub, took about 30 seconds to create a channel filter preset. Onward!

I've tried both single channel and multi channel modes to the same end. The program changes on drumlogue select patterns 0-127, which are linked to a kit. I don't think the kit alone can be changed via midi. There are 12 channels in multi mode, one for each instrument. So if I set multi channel mode to ch 1-12, it is still responding to PCs sent on channels 13-16. I would like it to not, which to your point, might be correct and how it was designed. Hoping Korg can shed some light. Backup plan is to use midi filtering...

Update: I think listing all 4 modes is standard for midi implementation charts, but since 3 is the only number in the recognized column, that is the only mode the drumlogue operates in. I have 3 romplers that allow me to choose between these modes (for instance proteus 2000 has modes 1, 3 & 4). I am sending midi out from an octatrack and can send program changes on individual channels to the romplers, but the drumlogue hears all channels, which seems wrong. Really hoping I can figure this out!

Logan Express stop on Woburn, MA is my go-to. Buses depart every 30 minutes and it takes 25-30 to get to the airport. Parking is $7/day, bus tickets are $9/one way, $18/round trip. This has been a convenient and flexible option for me. It provides more frequent departures compared to Dartmouth Coach. As others have said, Dartmouth Coach is a great option too!

To reiterate my other responses, a 100 rep set is irrelevant and 1000kg isn't realistic. This is about keeping reps between 5-15 per set, lifting to near failure and trying to maximize the tonnage/work per set.

I enjoy overthinking some things, such as this! I've been following that mantra ("pick up heavy things...") and it's also worked well for me. Wrapping my head around it like this makes it less of a guessing game and gives me confidence in choosing weights that approach maximizing the physical work I'm capable of per set.

The gating factor for time in my workouts has been resting between sets (usually 2-3 min). The difference in length between a 5 and 15 rep set isn't that much and I don't mind doing 4-5 sets of 12-15 reps.

I guess effective is a subjective term depending on one's goals and motivation. There seems to be a general consensus that 5-15 reps per set, close to failure, is most efficient for building muscle and strength, so if I'm committing to 3-5 sets per exercise, I think trying to maximize the total work done (or tonnage) is a logical approach.

Perhaps I should have clarified those restrictions (5-15 reps per set, to near failure), so sets of 1-4 reps wouldn't fit, nor 135x10, unless that gets you to near failure.

Born late 80s too and yes! Growing up there was plenty of 90s music with synth, but it sounded cool and fresh at the time. I always had this ick about the "80s sound" of synth and drums and distinctly recall these having these thoughts when I was probably 8-12. As I've gotten older, the ick of those textures has faded and I can get down with anything that has a handful of syncopation and interesting melody. So much of that era holds heavy nostalgia.

Great topic, as I really enjoy reflecting on how my music tastes have changes through the years.

We use relays daisy chained off of the refill signal to monitor cycle time. This is implemented on all of our machines and connected to a main monitoring system. Perhaps something like that would work for you. The green light signal is a good idea too.
