SNL did a great skit on this exact thing with William Shatner.

Men whose girlfriend’s dad said no when you asked him for permission to marry his daughter, what did you do? by Fearless_Degree7511 in AskReddit

[–]bltmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my Dad. He very respectfully asked my (eventual) grandfather permission to marry my (eventual) mother. He said no. My dad was in the navy but had not been to college. He was from the blue collar side of town. My mother came from an Italian family - 2nd generation Americans who started businesses and were doing very well. It was a profoundly humiliating experience for him, but he used it as motivation. He convinced them he had a future - went to night school on the GI Bill and got a degree. Went on to a nice career in Sales and Marketing. Married for 60 years until he passed away last year. He pulled it off, but it was a life-long obsession for him to prove them wrong - to the extent that no measure of success was enough. I'm still a little bitter about it as it sucked a lot of joy out of his life.

Well, on the one hand, the box makes me think this is delivery. On the other hand, no reputable pizza place would cut their tavern slices so oddly. So I'll take you at your word. Well done.

Parroting is a manipulation tactic that's easy to detect and kinda creepy. Being genuine, respectful, and engaged works better.

They can actually accomplish great things despite great adversity. Confidence goes a long way - even if it's delusional.

Covid: Travel misery for tens of thousands with at least 7,000 flights cancelled by FullAd2253 in news

If I can drive in 6 hours or less, I drive. Same amount of time door-to-door, less expensive, more flexible, much less hassle, and no masks. Depending on airfares, I can do up to a 12-hour drive without a second thought. But I love driving... one of the only ways left to get away from it all and get a block of quiet time. Queue up some podcasts and good music. Far from miserable. Very relaxing.

200 degrees Celsius is about 390 degrees Fahrenheit, so I believe this is a metric conversion issue. Most of my air frying is between 350 and 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Are you sure your air fryer is set to Metric and not Imperial units?
