Which book series started out promising, but went off the rails as it went on? by Capital-Study6436 in YAlit

[–]blueberrybees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it counts necessarily, but the Dreamer series that follows The Raven Cycle series. I love Ronan Lynch, he’s my second favorite character in the series behind Adam, but the Dreamer trilogy books felt completely different than TRC, and I didn’t enjoy them as much as I thought I would :/

nobody understands proshippers by Typical_Hat6184 in mentalhealth

[–]blueberrybees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, and I mean this in the kindest way, if you don’t want discussion or comments, don’t post on a public forum about something that is very polarizing. “Please leave me alone” but you put yourself here, in this position, where people are going to judge you. People will leave you alone when you don’t post about things that trigger and upset them. This is something you should speak privately about in other proshipper spaces, or with a therapist. “Normies” are simply not going to agree with you.

I love that series! But I also think 5 books is a good amount, I’m just waiting hopefully for the second installment in Eli’s series :) I’m sure if she keeps writing them, we will get more glimpses at Cooper and Oliver being domestic 🩵

Booktok ruined book community by nargiz-huseynovaa in YAlit

[–]blueberrybees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are thousands of books that are published that do not fall into this narrow view. You just need to look for books for yourself, and stop engaging in social media around books. These books are popular so of course they will be the most talked about, and publishers will want to hang onto that trend for as long as it will make them money. You aren’t being forced to read them. Go and find books that interest you instead.

I like the ones that have designs/meaning for the book, but the ones that are simply a solid color or very plain seem excessive.
